If you ran the mile one time on fresh legs, and a different time on tired heavy legs like those you have the next day after an intense quality session, what would you say the time difference would be between the two results? How many seconds?

Use formula y=mx+b
27-32 seconds
All I can say is that every time I try to read a post on this website, I get a pop-up message that I can't get rid of without going totally out of the website. I just spent 15 minutes trying to get past the first two entries of this posting without success. If this persists, then I am finished with Letsrun.com. You people behind the scenes have gone too far. The user experience is becoming too cumbersome. Fix it, or I am gone. Anyone else experiencing the same thing?

Just use duck duck go. To answer the OP question, running on tired legs is how you become a better runner. Run so much that the soreness turns into numbness and this turns into the ability to run forever.

An ad-blocker is required for this site. In fact, this site is what inspired me to use an ad-blocker. I went years surfing the next ignoring ads. I understand that web providers need to make money and ads usually don't bother me. But this site is just a mess of ads it is impossible to read without an ad-blocker.
You're looking at a 15-20 second difference
I agree with a 15-20 second difference.
It depends on how fast the person is. A 3:59 miler on a good day could still probably run 4:03-4:05 on a day where they're sore and not fresh.
Ches ran 7:38 3k the day after his 3:49 mile last year if I remember right, so there's some proof it doesn't effect you as much when you're fast.
A high schooler who runs 4:20 on a great day could still probably run 4:26-4:28 on a day following some tough workouts.
Now if you're someone who's running 5:20 or 5:30, then ya I could see a ten or more second difference, even more for a 7 minute mile runner.
Yeah, ROJO the pop-ups are getting ridiculous. I can't even browse this website on my phone b/c everything takes forever. Plz cut back on the ads.

The intrusive ads and incessant popups were the only thing missing from this 90's retro site.
It's no wonder many people here are still stuck in the EPO era when this site hasn't moved forward either.
fresh doesn't equal max
if you take a few days off you don't max out on chins or push up
Most trained runners won't be more than a few seconds different. That's because even though they aren't 100% fresh, they recover well enough that they aren't dead tired, either. Guys in good shape can double at a meet or on a weekend and only see a few seconds of a drop off. Guys who just wore themselves out in an arduous race or big block of overtraining could fall off by something like 30 seconds per mile if they aren't careful.

I met my current girlfriend from a singles pop-up. no problem for me . though she borrowed my car and i have not heard from her in 8 days. ill wait another 2 days before calling authorities. i still love her. ❤️
I never see ads on my phone
Lot of variables to consider. How tired your legs are. How u feel. Etc etc. I say if you can run 6:00 mile all out of u r tired u should be able to go 6:15 to 6:25
Totally Agree, cannot use LetsRun on mobile what so ever because of this.

I never used an ad blocker until I started using this site, in fact, I work in marketing for a company that uses online ads. However, the ads here are crazy - why do they always have that woman from Dragons’ Den with a black eye and a stack of cash?
Crystal Ad Blocker for iPhone is a good app.
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
Move over Mark Coogan, Rojo and John Kellogg share their 3 favorite mile workouts
Mark Coogan says that if you could only do 3 workouts as a 1500m runner you should do these
Red Bull (who sponsors Mondo) calls Mondo the pole vaulting Usain Bolt. Is that a fair comparison?
