What is relevant, since you are whining about runners posting their personal results, is that he was passed at mile 7.4, and he made it to the 8.2 mile point while the runners who passed him were a the 9 mile point. So, he covered 0.8 miles while they covered 1.6 miles, and he still managed to run 1:17. Hmmmmmmm....

Simple math seems to be fairly accurate being about 15 minutes back.

Imagine if one of the world's top basketball players was at the local city league 3-on-3. Thats sorta what this is like.

Nope... didn’t have a chance. Saw them at the starting line and once during the race because of a turnaround (probably 2 miles behind them) and that’s it. No awards ceremony after. Osako is running Tokyo marathon in 4 weeks so maybe I will catch a glimpse of him there if I am lucky although I am sure he will he mobbed by all of the Japanese running fans there.

That is how I felt. I know when I run a World Marathon Major I will be in the same race as top pro runners but I certainly don’t expect it at a local half marathon race with zero prize money. Still pretty cool to have them show up at this race and see a top level pro runner in action even if only for a few seconds.

That's a terrible result for Osako, even for a workout.

Dude...there was an out-and-back turn-around at 8.2 miles. OP “passed” the Japanese runners running in the opposite direction when he was at 7.4mi, .8 mi. from the turn-around, meaning the elites were .8mi past the turn-around or at ~9 miles. You’re welcome.

Yes.. they were at about 1.6 miles ahead of me if not more(I was 1 minute slower than them per mile at that point). They were flying down the course way ahead of 3rd and 4th place runners who are pretty fast subelite runners themselves (3rd place won Baltimore one year and got 2nd at Marine Corps with a 2:23 PR I think and 4th was a prior OTQ marathoner with a 2:17 PR). The weather was not conducive for fast times at the race with headwinds and rain.
