The author of this article does, even though she previously had an affair with another training partner.
I usually train alone, but will do some of my track workouts with my high school age son.

Does anyone have an opposite sex training partner?

This site is dominated by fast guys so there should be very few.

Craig Mottram trained with women most days -
Geez, hobbyjoggers take things way too seriously. These are probably mid pack runners turning their whole life into a sort of monastic venture.

A theme in this article was that the runners spouse needed to change. I've noticed this with people I know. It's interesting to see their actions and thoughts written down and published. Had no idea there were magazines to help people justify this behavior.

I read the title in 3 different ways
Do you have an opposite sex training partner
Do you have an opposite sex training partner
Do you have an opposite sex training partner
Needless to say I don't have any of the above -

Not true. Girls are known to run their easy days very fast, which often makes them ideal training partners for males. Tegenkamp (13 min 5k) used to train with a woman on his easy days all the time at 6:30 pace, even tho their 5k PR was 2-3 minutes different. -

Is it any surprise that Teg also flamed out like Mottram? I see a pattern. -

Don't know about DR girls but I've seen that elite female sprinters train harder than the males. When I worked out with a training group of elites of both sexes of roughly equivalent 200m performance rankings (i.e. 20 point- males, 22-point females, on the edge of world top-20) the intensity of the reps was similar, percentagewise, but the girls had greater pain tolerance and endurance and fanatacism had to be restrained by their coach from doing things like post-workout "punishment runs" - allout 300s to atone for missing target times in the 150s. The guys worked hard but when the workout was done, they were done. The girls were far from done.
It would not be a good idea to try to match this kind of intensity. -

I do. We're both married. While we've gotten pretty friendly over the years, it has most definitely never been the wrong kind of friendly.
Generally, when running with women, I think of them mostly as runners. -

You have no idea how much pain other people are feeling. Maybe men are more stoic? -
wHAT TYPE OF SEX ARE YOU HAVING THAT REQUIRES TRAINING?
-
No. I generally run alone.
If you're a guy who is semi-serious about training, you should probably stick to running with other guys around your fitness level.
I would run with a chick as a social activity but not really as a means of training. Most girls run too slow/lack the endurance to be effective training partners for men.
In the extremely rare case you find yourself training with an elite female runner, I would recommend you avoid running with her to avoid getting embarrassed (unless its like a short run/warmup etc). The average american is too ignorant of running to recognize genuine fitness and would probably mock you for "being beat by a girl". -
I run sometimes with a woman from work for my easy runs. I’m almost 10 minutes faster than her over 10k but she does her easy runs faster than me, I have to tell her to slow down sometimes.
I sometimes do shakeout jogs with another one who’s almost 20 mins slower over 10k, but for her it’s certainly not a shakeout jog. -
As a hobbyjogger I often run with women (as often as with men). I know two who can run around 3'10 marathons. So I could do most easy runs with them. I even do intervals with some but we dont run the same paces.

I have run with women. I can't get it out of my head visioning them naked and having crazy sex.

I don’t even have a training partner. My wife joins me occasionally when I do recovery runs, but sadly has hardly run at all this winter.
A good friend from university (girl) ran with me a few times, but then got injured and we never ran together again. Now she lives 900km away. -
I do easy runs with my girlfriend and sometimes I pace her for workouts but not super often.

no, my sex training partner and I actually have a lot in common
