According to the formula of 220 minus your age my max heart rate should be around 204. However, I was wondering what the effects of my last long run would be since for the majority of the run (around 45 minutes of the total 1 hour run) my heart rate was around 180-190bpm and peaked at 200bpm. Also, my average pace was 7:36 which usually feels pretty easy yet during that run it felt very difficult (though the route was very hilly at some parts with around a 140 ft gain over thr last two miles). Maybe it's just that my body is tired for the consistent training I've been doing getting ready for track season but I'm not sure why my heart rate was so high over the course of the run. Any ideas on why this is would be greatly appreciated.
