Nothing screams "Christian" like rejoicing in the misfortunes of others.

Coach Wetmore has done very little to support the Boulder running community at large.
This is hilarious for two main reasons.
One is the idea that it is anywhere in a college coach's official or unofficial job description to play any role at all in the local running community.
I've always believed that a college program is most successful when all the athletes have a long term approach to their training and it is not a make or break it in 4 years approach. The runners at CU know that if they get a pro contract they can continue to compete but many probably aren't aware of how many competitive runners are out there training and racing hard while holding a job or working towards another degree. If they opened their facilities up to these community athletes it may benefit their programs.
Another benefit is in donations to their programs. I donated to the CSU track team before they shut down their track to the public. I'm sure I was not alone.
Lastly, if a college track/XC coaches are the bottom of the barrel in any athletic department. Part of the reason is that it is impossible to be a fan of the sport at some schools. CU and CSU had great XC teams this fall and none of them competed in Colorado. They went out of state for every race. CSU raced in Wisconsin three times and no times in Colorado. In track the top athletes only compete in California. If they connected a bit with the local community by being friendly to local runners and by showing off their top athletes they could raise the profile of the sport and their position within the university.
Yes, it is really a travesty that they would pick the biggest meet of the regular season, pre nationals, nationals, conference, and a regular race at the conference course for their schedule.

Exactly how?

"Wetmore is a typical Christian hating democrat piece of trash. We will all rejoice when that piece of trash is terminated."
