Congrats to all the Houston racers. I'm impressed with slo coming back from a November marathon to run a solid half in January.

T: 75 skate skiing min with ~4k race (on manmade snow loop due to lack of snow). ~10th place.
W: 8 w/ strength (Med ball throw/ crawling, power snatch (2x85#), goblet squat (2x8x80#), 1L RDL (3x10), dips (5x5), pull ups (5x5), multi-lunge (3x12)) and 15 min cross training (rowing & nordic ski machine)
Th: 10

S: 75 min skate skiing, ~4 inches of snow overnight and the skate deck was really soft. Was v1ing sections of trail that I'd normally v2-alt. Will be great in a couple days I'm sure.
S: heading out for a cold 6 soon.
Race Report: Over 40 people mass start on a maybe 800m loop. Got out in the middle of the pack and then tried to move my way up. Was a weird race because there were so many people you couldn't ski hard up the hill, just had to try and watch your skis and poles not to trip anyone/be tripped. Then a downhill that carried speed all the way into this completely torn up corner, power through the corner then sprint for 30 seconds back to the hill to try and pass people while you could.
