I have always liked the Saturday long run. That means I can have a few too many adult beverages and not worry about messing up a long Sunday run. What is your chioce?

Same with me. If I'm not racing on Sat. I like to do my LR then. It frees up Sat. night to stay out late knowing that I just have an easy run on Sun. morn.
I usually end up doing the sunday run but saturday is usually better for family and social stuff and for training personally I like to have more easy time after the long run then before. I need 1 easy day before the long run but 2 easy days after before the next workout works better with me.
Have fun at the 10K Saturday. I like to race on Sunday after the LRun during marathon training. It hurt so good.

That makes you tough. Also try racing or doing a hard workout on sat. then the long run on sun.
At this time in my life, Saturday morning is best for the long run for me - when it's warmer, I will get up and start the run at about 6 a.m. so that it is over before the day really has started. The kids like to watch Saturday morning cartoons, so they are occupied and it isn't too much extra work for my wife to watch them - besides she then does aerobics for 90 minutes, and by the time she drives there and back and then showers, she's into it for 2+ hours, so it's a good trade off.
Also, for me a long run is better if I do little or nothing the day before, and on Friday I find I am less into running after a week of work, so I schedule Friday's for light running or no running days. Then, if for some reason the long run can't happen on Saturday, I still have Sunday as a fall back day.
For the marathon, the sunday race after the long run sat made me run hard when I may not have wanted. And I thought it simulated what the last 10K of the marathon wouild be like.

I need to try that.
I do recall running 15 miles in Montreal during the 76 Olympics in the morning. Drove 6 or so hours back to Boston then that same night @ 7p.m. ran a 7.5 mile road race in my home town. I led the whole way but got outkicked.
Saturday- quality session or race.
Sunday- long.
Beer on both days.
I like the Sunday Saturdays are usually workouts, races, or time trials.
The Roc
Like Saturday better. Also, it is a little harder to get ready for Church on Sunaday mornings with a long run and kids to get ready as well.
What are you Sunday runners doing to get ready for church on time?
I prefer Saturday, so I have two easy days before a Tuesday quality workout.
My Sunday School class does not start until 9:30 a.m. On Sunday, so if I do a Sunday long run, I have to get up around 5 a.m., but it is never really a problem.
Well, being Catholic, our mass is Sat. night so it works out either way for me. Hopefully you guys are getting yourselves to Church on a regular basis.
God Bless You!
I've been doing Monday, works out well that way.
Race Saturday, long run Sunday. Church? The church is only a means of alienation and source of guilt. Tolerance of pain is my religion, I attend service for at least 2 hours every Sunday morning. Fatoldguy, so that's why no IC long runs....;)
I wake up at 5 a.m. to run before church. There is no rule saying you have to sleep till 7.
Usually on Saturday, but sometimes on Sunday, early......makes it hard to stay awake during the sermon at church however.
I may show for section 16 sunday or I may sleep. If I sleep
maybe I see you going down the hill as I climb up. Church is for praying the store continues to do well.
Dina, I tried that once and got out kicked in the first 400 of a 5,000m race. But on marathon day it was the otherway around.
