Houlihan is one of the top 3 finalists for the UC Irvine job. If she isn’t hired there, look for her to be hired by an east coast school.

Every word of this is 100% untrue.

Good hire for SVSU. But I think you meant to say "must have competed at Grand Valley State to coach in the GLIAC." Although Hartmann did not, nor did Parkside's new coach.
I meant what I said? And Hartmann isn’t in the GLIAC anymore, and it was mostly a joke. Tech, Wayne, Northwood, and now SV’s coaches all ran there, and 3 of them at the same time haha.
Whoah, all caps huh? The you’re writing makes it seem like he took your girl AND your job. Hahahaha
Facts are facts though. He’s done way more great things at Air Force in the history of the program. Go read for yourself.
Northwoods last two head coaches didn’t run or coach at GVSU and neither even competed in the conference as athletes. Get your facts straight .

Second that, completely untrue.

Forgetting to enter ALL OF YOUR DISTANCE ATHLETES into the conference championship meet is unforgivable. It cost them a team title and it almost cost those runners an opportunity to qualify for nationals. Luckily the meet let them run and just didn't score them.
Every single athlete Ryan coaches is ON A FULL SCHOLARSHIP. Unlimited full scholarships at Air Force. Nobody at that school pays a dime. They are also at altitude and that's a huge benefit they have over 99% of teams in the nation.[/quote]

These academy athletes do not have it easy. You have to recruit someone that can secure a nomination from a congressman (no guarantee of acceptance). They also have a rigorous structure once they arrive. Getting to the NCAAs as a team, on the women's side, from a service academy is almost unheard of.
I don't know the story about the entries. Doesn't really matter in the general scheme of things as it would certainly never happen again. People are human and they make mistakes (clearly....). It isn't a deal breaker nor is it unforgivable. It is obvious he can coach and if you can be good at a service academy, it would be logical to assume the success would carry over to any civilian university regardless of their academic rigors.

Looks like Drury got pretty desperate with their hire with no coach heading into August! They offered the job to three and all three turned it down. Now they have a head coach with no head coaching experience. Should be good with the distance group, but overseeing an entire program will be a challenge. We will see if the new AD has a backbone to filter through the entitlement bullshit unlike the previous one!

Seriously this cat is crying about a college that has the same name as a three star hotel. No one knows that college, we only know the hotel with that name. Let it go

Air Force is known for being 100x easier than Army and Navy. Both in terms of getting accepted and in terms of the structure. They do essentially no physical activity outside of practice. Getting a letter from a congressman s the easiest - congressmen want you to vote for them. Congressmen will lick the bottom of your shoe to get you to vote for them.
Army, Navy, Air Force all recruit the top talent in the country. Admissions standards are nowhere near stanford and stanford is doing incredibly well. Everyone that goes to service academies goes for free - unlimited full scholarships.
Every team at altitude with even 5 scholarships should qualify for nationals every year on the women's side. By senior year everyone should be well under 17 min for 5k just from altitude alone and that's pretty much all it takes to qualify.
Ryan is one of the coaches that "doesn't believe in speed" - he just jacks up mileage and lets altitude do the work. He posted his training at convention.

You do realize Bob Barker went there, right?
You cannot reason with someone who is unreasonable. I will concede and say that you absolutely must be right. Enjoy your night. You clearly have a much deeper understanding of coaching and recruiting, and of course, life at the service academies than the rest of us. Air Force Academy could only be be lucky as to have someone like you as their Athletic Director.
PS: If you mean "FREE" as including devoting six additional years of your life on active duty, putting your life on the line, serving our country, fighting for your freedom to post your in-depth analysis of...well...seemingly everything, then, yes, you're absolutely right.

Oh man you're really worked up about it.
1. Ralph never qualified the women to D1 nationals. Today is harder to do that more than ever.
2. Ryan has qualified multiple athletes to the NCAA's and USATF nationals in multiple events.
3. The guy is a damn gooooood sweet talker, recruiter and indeed probably stole your girl. haha. Just ask the wild duck whisperer
4. Ask Houlihan how much she ran at Arizona State when he coached her. Not high mileage.
5. My starbucks order is ready gtg. get over it.

JJ Clark hired two of the three coaches he was going after at USATF Championships. The word I’m hearing is that his long distance coach and throws coach are a done deal. Clark is still finalizing other staff members. He wants to announce his entire staff at the same time. But he might have 86 that plan if he can’t get his entire staff hired by next Monday.
This just doesn't even make sense. If JJ Clark has already "hired" two coaches, then why were there Stanford job postings put up today?

Firedup was referring to Northwood’s head XC coach Jeremy Wilk who did in fact go to GV.
Metro is going to hire Nick Lara. He has little to no experience and the last program he coached at he did a terrible job.
