it may be fun, but Steve is still wrong. it's not bigger. Lance was a household name. Even in my own running household. No one knows who Salazar is. I can barely name any distance coaches.

Was Lance simply such a prick that Nike was willing to sacrifice him, or is Salazar/NOP so important to Nike that all their resources have gone to protect him and they're hoping to run out the clock? Seems that way.
This is not about drugs, but rather about white supremacy, and putting another immigrant in his place.
Lance stole $$$ from U.S. citizens (remember his gig with the postal service?) and has never paid restitution. Salazar barely did anything wrong, and is not known to anyone outside the world of running.
Outside of LRC and a few other running sites, this is the equivalent of a single A baseball manager in the Gulf Coast League providing a tin of Copenhagen to a rookie pitching prospect in violation of the league's anti-chew rules. Is someone getting a suspension? Yes. Is anyone going to prison? No. Does anyone really care? Nope.
Yeah this is definitely small, even ignoring the fact that Lance was more well-known. It really is good news for NOP fans - despite all the haziness surrounding Salazar, his only doping violations were committed on his son and Steve Magness.
Lance was blood doping, while no NOP athletes have been found to have broken any rules.

But it's big news for the Brojos.
I love running and pro cycling, but in no universe is the Salazar take-down bigger than Lance. You can add up every medal from every Salazar runner, and none of that compares to winning 7 straight TdF. That's another level. Even on PEDs, winning 7 straight TdF seems almost impossible, considering everything that can go wrong in roughly 7x20 days of intense racing across every terrain.

They eventually nailed Lance Armstrong. But as of today, the investigations into Salazar/NOP have been going on for three years and five months--no conclusions. Was Lance simply such a prick that Nike was willing to sacrifice him, or is Salazar/NOP so important to Nike that all their resources have gone to protect him and they're hoping to run out the clock? Not even close. Nobody outside athletics know who the hell Salazar or the NOP are. The comparison is ridiculous.
