I do watch races, which is why I know that it is factually inaccurate to say that she has she has been running the marathon for "just a year". You sound really uninformed.

Half - 67:34 / 67:25

1st Marathon - 2:26:59 (NYC) / 2:28:13 (NYC)

2nd Marathon - 2:26:53 (CHI) / 2:26:44 (NYC)

Deena was 33 when she ran 67:34/2:19:36 nearly five years after her debut marathon. Molly is 34 and ran her US Record 67:25 earlier this year. Based solely on progression and distance PBs, Molly has the potential to run sub-2:20 but she won't have another 3 or 4 years to get there because of her age.

I'm not lying to make a point. SHE MOSTLY TRAINED FOR THE TRACK LAST YEAR and RAN TRACK. She ran her first marathon at the end of 2016 ( NYC), didn't run last year because she ran track. She took time off after the world championships, and then got into her build up for Boston around November or December of 2017, and then only semi-trained for the marathon this year because she has been running the US road circuit.

She really only has about one to 1.5 years ( if that) of serious running, training and experience for the marathon. Boston was a crap show, so she just jogged it to finish right under 3: 00 hours. So she only has 2 real RACING marathons under her belt. That's one year's worth of experience ( runners run 2 marathons in a year, spring and fall.)

She is still raw and not fully trained at the marathon. So this marathon was some good experience.

I can only hope that she does no run track for the World Championships, and truly dedicates herself to the marathon. This women has yet to really train for the marathon.

How the fuk does she have 2 year of marathon experience when she did not run the marathon last year ! She ran track and trained mostly for track last year!

2016 NYC was a real marathon race for her, and this year was a real marathon race for her, that's one year's worth of experience. And even her training has yet to be true marathon training. She did not run or race boston. She jogged it just to finish....she ran 2:50! ( that's not a race.

Cragg has been the one stepping up at the OT's. She will do that again.

I had an opportunity to run with Molly last year and enjoyed an easy 10-miler with her. Very nice person who was a pleasure to be around. She is definitely built for the marathon and is quite small. She is capable of faster than 2:26 and will be a medal contender in Tokyo.

Remember it often takes pros time to learn the marathon. Even Rupp only ran a controlled 2:11 is his debut which was much slower than his ability.
