About 2000m
A more interesting question, which I posed already, is how much of Kipchoge's marathon could you paceset for him, if you had a vehicle pick you up when you needed rest and drop you off for the next rep.
Back in the day I could run about 26 miles at that pace. Now I can't even drive my car that fast. These days I just come to LRC for the racist posts.
400m give or take. Much longer and I’m gonna eat that belt.
At 6min pace, Kipchoge would almost be lapping you every mile, if on a track. You'd be ~6.5 miles back when he finished.
That belt looks a lot softer than regular treadmills. Like people are really sinking in. So it probably had more bounce making it easier.
I once did about 32 miles at that pace during a workout
+1
Although I hope to run 3200 at this pace eventually.
There was a thread identical to this started just after Kipchoge won Berlin. Try to keep up:
I once ran sub-2 marathon pace for 26.1 miles but passed out with 100m to the line from the overwelming effort of it. I once went to the door of a shack in kaptagat and a young Kenyan answered. I told him the story about that time I almost broke 2 for the marathon and he said "You're a mzungu, I can beat you" That kids name was Eliud Kipchoge and I inspired him to think he too could break 2.
This was back in the days when I ran 16:08 for 4 miles at Mt. Sac. I met a woman from Bekoji in Ethiopia who wanted a donor of the best running genes on Earth. I told her that no one could ever beat me but my sperm might one day produce a runner with 3/4's of my ability which would be good enough to beat everyone else. That sperm turned into Kenneisa Bekele.
All of this was while I was running 350mpw. I once met a kid in San Clemente highschool and told him about this and he told me" you know what!? Someday, I'm going to run that far without stopping or sleeping" That kid was inspired and he grew up to be....a spoofer like me
In my prime I could definitely do 5000m at that pace. I'd probably be able to hang on for 4 miles but then it would be all over for me.
Today I could probably do 200m at that pace. Maybe 300m if the wind is at my back and the street has a bit of a downhill to it!
