Not too surprising for a double European champion.
Dont think they have done the test now, they are still talking about the test they did, as always, in February.
This year the testers didnt manage to do the test correctly - cause he had not yet reached his threshold when they stopped...!

Not bad at 18? He only has a couple more good years left...

He's not African.
"Etter det TV 2 har forstått ligger terskelfarten til Ingebrigtsen mellom 21 og 22 km/t. I teorien kan altså Jakob Ingebrigtsen løpe en halvmaraton på under én time, og sette norsk rekord - uten å få melkesyre i beina."
In theory, Jakob Ingebrigtsen can(altsao?) run a half marathon under that time, set a Norwegian record --??
At the bottom, it says that the equivalent would be 34 second 200s 105 times. Taken literally, that is 59:30 half.
Interesting that you are comparing him to athletes and times ran at the height of the EPO era.

Also, not sure why he is being compared in his weakest event? He is world class already in the 1500. How many of these guys ever ran faster than him in the 1500? None?

In the African recording system he's likely only 8 years old.
Grejt is quite an amazing coach (albeit an ass of a father IMO) to say the least!
He's a great coach for the boys, no doubt. Are there other top athletes who do primarily LT training?

Um, have you heard of Daniel Komen?

Or Isaac Songok.
Every year, Team Ingebrigtsen measures so-called thresholds on the three brothers in the family. And especially Jacob has amazed the experts with his extreme aerobic endurance.
Threshold is the speed an elite athlete manage run on average in an hour, without producing more lactic acid in the muscles than the body constantly manages to "wash" away. The higher the threshold, the longer it takes before you get stiff when you race.
After the test two years ago, Jacob was open about how high his threshold was.
- 19.3 km / h I measured in the threshold. By comparison, Henrik measured 18.1, the then 15-year-old Jakob told TV 2.
Now he would rather not talk about how high the last measurement is.
- Is it over 20 km / h now?
- Yes, says Jakob Ingebrigtsen shortly.
- How much? Is that secret?
- Well, no, but it's not necessary to talk about numbers as long as you run fast.
In the NRK documentary about Team Ingebrigtsen, the man who has tested Jakob in all years, Leif Inge Tjelta, says the following about the last test.
- This is in line with the best in the world. He has a good working economy. It looks like he jogs when he runs.
After the TV 2 has understood, the threshold speed to Ingebrigtsen is between 21 and 22 km / h. In theory, Jakob Ingebrigtsen can run a half marathon in less than one hour, and put Norwegian record - without getting lactic acid in the legs.
The article in english:
Google translate is so-so, if theres anything you don't understand, ask and I'll translate.
You should probably let someone else translate; someone who actually knows how to write correct english

Guy is posting something interesting and your only comment is about his English.... butthurt much this morning?
Thanks for posting this OP. Gjert i think he mentioned that Jakob could run an half under one hour. All the episodes in those two series have now English subs on YouTube for those who are interested....
agreed, the OP's writing is perfectly clear.
I am more of a casual fan of the sport these days. When Jakob races it is the only time I really pay attention.

Are you unable to take a moment and think before you comment? I've clearly just posted Google translates version of the text, fixing a few of the worst mistakes.
Stupid to compare his 5000 meter times to others. First, because he is a 1500 meter runner and thats where his focus and training is.
Second because he has never run a 5000 meter where TIME was the goal, with a pace holder. he has only run a few (6-7 I think),
and always in a championship where medals was the goal. He would`ve been close to 13 min. this year, maybe better too, with the right field.
