What about dunes runner v. that guy who kept posting all the links showing that Yegorova tested positive... English was not his first language, but he kept battling with dunes runner for hundreds of posts... dammit, I can't remember the guy's name!
Anyway, I thought that was a good battle... worthy of mention.
Martin v. Paddy the Irishman and Pete
It was a classic... intellect v. ignorance...
wasn't there a pretty school brawl between Eric Mack and the D.O.C
How about the Wayland brothers vs. All comers in the TnF Media Days-Schief was pretty much like Jerry Springer
What about Mr. Chest vs. the runners?
Doug, you offered:
"Martin v. Paddy the Irishman and Pete
It was a classic... intellect v. ignorance..."
You do see things through rose coloured glasses. Nevertheless, that thread probably wins for the highest average word count per post.
I forgot to mention that in the midst of the ultra-marathon Iraq debate, Martin an Paddy were engaged in a much more intense street fight about Ireland. A truly vicious skirmish in the midst of the wider war, you could almost picture them chasing after each other with clubs and knives through the streets of Belfast. There was some irony in the setting they chose to have that discussion.
Sweet! Thanks.
It is my dream to someday be as firmly entrenched in runningboard lore (smile).
The poem itself is Thread of Fame material.

Dang if you didn't keep me up for 10+min last night as it was killing me who this was... the dude was worthy of mention...
molfin
Interestingly, I never read any other stuff from him (her?)before or after this singular battle.
The one I remember the most was (and JEH & Doug C touched on this one):
?DUNES RUNNER? VS. NEARLY EVERYONE ELSE (Dunes? other name of ?DrewP? lent himself some support. But, he was the same person as Dunes)
SUBJECT: debating who was more likely to have been guilty of doping: the Russian Olga Yegorova, or the Brit Paula Radcliffe?
Dunes Runner had nearly no support for his contention that OY is innocent and was railroaded, and his feeling that ?PR is a CHEAT!!!? He was the broken record OF THE CENTURY on that one. I really felt he was/is borderline(that is being KIND) insane.
DUNES RUNNER VS MOLFIN (the elusive name JEH remembered).
SUBJECT: same as above (OY vs PR, insanity vs sanity) but Molfin made it his personal mission to not let one of Dune?s Runner?s inane posts get by without tearing it to shreds. The tenacity/commitment these 2 showed to their beliefs was unbelievable. Except Molfin made sense(despite some struggles with English, not his first language I believe), and Dunes Runner made none. Dunes Runner has made many posts recently that make sense/are intelligent. So that is why, looking back, it is shocking to have witnessed his unbridled insanity on this. He was OUT of control. But Molfin nearly outdid him with his refusal to say ?uncle.?
That was the battle that deserves the prize in my book!!
(PS, the Malmo poem was funny for 2 stanzas, but whoever[Rudy Ray Moore?.is that a real poster/person? ] spent the time to construct that long piece of crap deserves hall of SHAME recognition. C?mon, that brings even gag/humor-poetry to an all-time low of crappiness)
Francisco Cabada of Arkansas vs. Dan Wilson of Connecticut. Started with the post-NCAAs party where Wilson stole a lamp and was confronted by a knirfe-wielding Cabada, and snowballed into a bitchfest on Letsrun. Was the cause of Cabada's transfer to Fresno State; Dan Wilson was stained a little bit from this thread too.
Wayland bros? Wayton bros. Classic Badasses- they used to hunt guys down from tnfmedia at meets- like the bros in slapshot
The Wayton Brothers = Slapshot. Hunting guys down at meets! Freakin Funny!!!!

That's right. Mr. Chest took on all you puny runts. And he's still undefeated. Ha ha hahaha.
Doug Consiglio vs. John Mortimer--
Way back
Honestly Pete... Paddy was downright uninformed and ignorant. You were more eloquent, but still didn't even understand the basics about that which you wanted to discuss. Up until the end you were still "not sure" that a certain tyrant ever posessed certain types of weapons, when that fact is a matter of public record easily verified through simple "Google" searches of news reports.
Who were the Waytons and who did they hunt down?
That IS hilarious
Ran for Indiana State-
seen at XC Nationals over 200lbs- each. tnfmedia used to be a brawling yard for college teams- much cooler in its height that letsrun.com. Both Wayton's were good in cross.
Answer is false. My memory tells me that this Auburn kid (D1 Runner) was actually quite mediocre at best. And that on any given day, the battle would have been close with no clear cut winner. The result, to me, is that it would have been very humiliating to the young, college buck to get beat, or even being close to losing, to an out of shape old guy. Epic battles absolutely involve Malmo, Joe Black, The Big Dog, D1 Runner, Brutal, Frank S., Easy E, PBK, The Dude, Truth, etc.

No it was Big Dog vs. D1Runner (the guy from Georgia, I think he ran for clemson though) It was supposed to end in a battle at peach tree, but it turned out that D1Runner was pretty good and would have killed the Big Dog, who was an out of shape lawyer.
Answer - I, you are an idiot, and for too many reasons to list here. PBK didn't involve himself in epic battles. He was a hit and run poster. You know nothing. Find a topic where you can contribute. You struck out here. "Move On".
