Call it now, predict their placings and times.
I say Thweatt gets on the podium, 3rd overall woman with a 2:25. Jorgensen follows close behind, 5th woman in 2:27. Pappas runs a creditable debut yet fades a little in the late stages due to fuel management, 6th woman in 2:28.

I like Jorgensen. And she'll only run high 2:20s. Pappas is a joke and Thweatt has had such a long layoff that it sill be tough getting back into top form.
-
I want Gwen Jorgensen to win just to trigger all the haters here.
-
Thweatt. 2:24
Gwen 2:31
Pappas is not able to represent USA and should not be discussed in an American thread -
Funny. Fades due to fuel management.

But she's American Born, that means something on this website -

Jorgensen is ready to go 2:25. But I love the work Dena Drossin has done with Pappas . She seems more serious and less female Pee Wee Herman . She goes 2:32. You heard it from the hound dog 🐶. -

Gwen is the obvious answer. Pappas will be off the back within a mile. -
If Thweatt is in decent shape I predict she will go out at 2:25 pace and Jorgensen will sit on her to about 24 miles, and then run by her to finish in the 2:24:45 to 2:25:30 range.

Man, these predictions seem really optimistic. Thweat might be a couple minutes under 2:30 but I'm not sure Gwen will break it. If Pappas is faster than 2:35, that would be shocking and an excellent result for her. Or maybe I'm too conservative.

Fyi, Pappas' 31:36 PR translate to a 2:25-2:26 marathon. By that logic, sub-2:30 should be within reach.
But I hope she runs like 2:40, loses all her undeserved press coverage, and all that goes to a female runner that actually races and runs fast. -

Yeah she is a media hound but I get the vibe Deanna Drossin has toned down the sideshow act and Imparted her work ethic . We will see Sunday sez hounddog . 🐕 🐶 -
Gwen has yet to win a major u.s. footrace, and this will continue. Laura FTW.
-
Get Alexi some Gu show she can take the race!
-
Personally Im looking forward to seeing Joan Benoit Samuelson break the record for 60+.
I predict a sub 3 from her. -
How week is the field for American women runners if people are menthioned the Greek runnner Pappas as part of the top group? That’s embarrassing.

if Yiannis Kouros ran any big US ultra nowadays he would get press coverage. Your nationality doesn’t make you fast, your genes and training do.
-
Americans will go Thweatt then Jorgensen
Pappas will be the top Greek if she doesn't DNF. -
Thweatt 2:25 (2:24s-2:27s)
Jorgensen 2:28 (2:27s-low 2:30s)
Pappas 2:32 (2:30-2:35)
