"I can't run 26 miles every week at the pace I'm going to do in the marathon, but I can run for 2.5 hours, go in the weight room, and do some of the heavier stuff," says Hasay, who typically consumes about 4,000 calories a day to fuel her workouts. After that kind of training, "A marathon feels like a day off because you don't have to lift after—you're done!"
"A marathon feels like a day off because you don't have to lift after—you're done!"
This line alone could be indicative of an exercise addiction or disordered eating. Why does she have to go in the weight room after running 2.5 hours?
A friend used to run before work with a friend and then go on the treadmill at work. Lunch consisted of strawberries and diet coke. She would then run after work again with her run club. If you asked her, she "ate a ton."

Full stop to all of the men on the Hasay threads. Step back. Stop posting. We don't care about [how] you think Jordan looks or her eating habits or how much she weighs. Do less. Full stop.
Well said.

Are you sure about that? If so, that would be quite unusual to get so much taller at her age.

calcaneal fractures don't come from overpronation, definitely overtraining.
Wrong! BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ you lose.
They are 99 percent of the time caused by bad shoes and impact.

That’s because it’s what her running coach and strength coach (professional trained coaches) prescribed in order for her to be the second-fastest female marathoner in the USA and internationally competitive. It IS her work. What do you suggest instead, max runs of 16 miles and only lift on off days? Do you think that would make her faster?
Was your friend training to be one of the fastest female marathoners in the world under the supervision of professionals? No? Ok then.

There is a documented case of a person who was born a dwarf and turned into a giant after developing a pituitary tumor.

Kipchoge is 5'6, she doesn't need to grow anymore.

You realize that we mostly talk about midfoot pronation vs rearfoot pronation. Also, she said she thought it was peroneal tendonitis - rearfoot pronation isn't going to cause a lateral stress fracture. But okay.
Hasay does not weigh under 90lbs. Try 105-110. She has a lot of muscle mass for her body.
The issue with Hasay (potentially) is her LOW body fat %-not her body weight. At that low BF%, it is highly unlikely she is menstruating. Despite the calorie intake, if a female is not menstruating because of very low BF%, bone density is affected, stress fractures occur due to osteopenia, which over a prolonged period, becomes osteoporosis "female athlete triad".
What is happening to Jordan? Her performance has dropped over the past couple of years
Calorie daily intake is irrelevant regarding eating disorders. Exercise could easily be used as a mechanism to exacerbate an eating disorder. So while eating disorders typically revolve around low calories, one could have a disorder despite a high calorie diet that's still food restrictive due to a high rate of calories burned. It is a subjective mental burden for the affected individual. And it's also best to be compassionate rather than critical because these individuals are already going through a tough time emotionally, physically and mentally. Compassion and understanding is key because it's easy for humans to criticize what they don't experience themselves.

Actually the weight gain claim is completely wrong and goes against everything we know about metabolism as well as common sense: all else being equal, eating less can not possibly increase weight (but it can maintain weight if the body reduces NEAT to compensate).
