Jim Walmsley will be a 2:11 marathoner the day he runs a marathon in 2 hours and 11 minutes, which he has never done yet.
And what's so especial about his stride? He runs like every other tall skinny dude, long strides and low cadence. Compared to the top runners at UTMB, he lifts his heels way too much.
He's obviously one of the current top American trail ultrarunners, but enough with the cult. Let's see how he does at Comrades next year, let's see how much faster or slower than Carpenter he is at Leadville. Too soon to say he's more than just another sort-of-speedster turned to the trails.
And he's announced he wants to go sub 6 hours to break the current 100km record (6h 9'). Let's see about that too.
