Holy crap! If she can close that fast off 3:57 pace the AR is hers. Just a matter of time.
I picked her for the win and she did in 3:57.34 and thought she could break the AR. I just hate we're about to lose someone with sub 14:30 5000m potential to the 1500m. Just like I still think Jenny B. would have revolutionized the steeple had she stuck with the steeple. Shelby is the real deal and hopefully she dont totally abandoned the 5000m
Ok, very obvious she was just sandbagging so that her fans can claim she isn't even "that" good, but still funny to see her lose.
She probably ran a very even race, hence ideal. Great!
Yeah nobody thought she would win except posters on this bizzare little website. Athletics fans know she struggles in the 1500 unless it's tactical.
Will she abandon the 5000m? Please I hope not, Shelby please still focus on the 5000m.

Why should she focus on 5000m? She’s proven she has medalist ability at 1500m. Not so at 5000m, and she probably never will.
"took down Semenya"
..... and Tsefaye and Muir and Hassan and Afari
Took down most of the World class 1500m runners as stacked as this field was
Probably would've beat Simpson and Obiri, but not Dibaba
Might be a top 3 candadite for worlds next year
With the alltime list and going against some of these drug suspects, why does Shelbo, Schumacher, and BTC never get accused of doping?
She basically just pulled a Rowbury, followed Muir til the last 100, swung wide and kicked

Probably? Probably???
Holy crap she just beat the clean WR holder and a biological guy (or intersex person) all in ONE race! Pretty sure the days of Rowbury's AR are numbered.

The only possibility is that Houlihan falls pretty badly as did Uceny, but even that is no granulate.
Simpson is the only other American who's won two DL 1500 races in a single season.

Jäger was listed as "likely doping" on the leaked USADA report.

Maybe because the United States has better testing?
Pretty impressive, but still taking it with a grain of salt. It's a non-championship year, and sifan and muir don't look in form to me. Semenya was gassed, and the more endurance that is needed, then her T levels will not factor in as much.
Same thing with what timothy is doing in 1500m during an off year, I don't get too worked up over it. Lets see what the two of them will have next year where athletes will be in peak peak form.
I will say she has definitely improved, and the time is a great time, but lets see how things are when Kipyegon and Dibaba are on the track before we start championing her.
Lets see how things continue to roll.

Why would anyone choose 5k over 1500?
Slower races are for slower runners and are completely boring.
She should just do 8s and 1500s exclusively until she gets older.
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?

Mark Coogan says that if you could only do 3 workouts as a 1500m runner you should do these
