All letsrun care too much about high milage and think its the magic answer. Truth is talent beat milage 100times out of 100
Static stretching is useless and causes the problems it seeks to correct. Warming up is also largely useless.
17:00-19:00 is a fine time for a hobbyjogger.
Competitive runners are bigger a-holes than are competitive cyclists
Running at a 1% incline on a treadmill is not equivalent to running outside.

"Injury prevention" is overrated and mostly a combination of luck and superstition
Lydiard was right, but most people do the base phase wrong. It should be ten hours a week at a steady pace. Not 100 miles per week at a slow jog. Cerutty emphasis on hills during the base phase, is better than Lydiard hill phase. That is to do some hill reps once a week during the base phase. Cerutty is one of the most overlooked and one of the most underrated coaches ever in the history of distance running. Lydiard base phase is best to do with some 400m intervals once a week.
Lifting doesn't help distance runners.
