Muir never had to cut her stride, slow down, etc. nor does she ever show any surge that suggests tactics limited her ability to "go" earlier. Outside of maybe a couple of meters at the end, Houlihan is running as fast or faster than Muir the entire home stretch.

I'm curious to see a few more races out of Shelby and see how she fares fitness-wise and tactically. I think she holds great promise. And while I don't think Simpson is in her sunset years just yet, she is getting a little long in the tooth and I see Shelby as the heir apparent. I hope she sticks with the 1500.
