Pssht....Take your facts somewhere else.
Well.... conference is over, last chance is over, nationals is over, state meet is over, and obsa even won the steeple to put a cherry on top. Now all you h8ers can stop complaining about “it’s too early to talk about cross”. There are no more excuses left, so I want to see some predictions. Will Carleton pick up a star freshman again? And if they do, could they potentially perfect score conference? Will Jack Henschel rise from the grave, or has he been buried too deep? Who’s this year’s darkhorse runner?

He's not coming back. Why would he?
Guys, we are division 3. There's no glory for him to go get in cross. He's got an individual and team championship, he's been to nationals, and he can't win nationals. The ONLY race he would have to push it at would be natties because he could walk in a win at conference and his team would bring him to natties if he felt like saving it at regions.
He won't delay the next chapter of his life to run at XC baby nats. No one should.
Carleton needs Donson and the cc team to get bodies enrolled. If they don’t qualify for nationals they might have to turn off the warm water in the dorms. Anything less than 3rd at Miac and they may have to turn off the lights and use torches to illuminate the sidewalks.
Re: the post commenting on headcounts and times of incoming freshman. Carleton has the already-mentioned state champ in XC who is also a 4:25/9:24 (1600/3200) in Track. They also have another incoming freshman who is a 16:21/4:22/9:24 who has a couple of top 5’s in the H.S. Maroon race at Griak. I don’t know any other schools.

Which state's state champ? Neither of MN's Class champs are going to Carleton.
Maryland (4A).
What do we want?
Pridictions!
When do we want em?
Now!
Well, Carleton looks locked in now. They have two fast frosh that can be the fifth runner. It is possible St Olaf can win. But, if Carleton loses, it is because they got injured or didn't show up. If Carleton executes, there isn't a team in the MIAC that can beat them.
Nobody has mentioned individual finishers?
According to last year we got:
1.Lerdall
2.Mueller
3.Stumbo
4.Wilkinson
5.Dodge
6.Meikle
7.Gustafson
8.Kirtley
9.Wachter
10.Will Anderson
Any thoughts? Who should be in this list considering how Track season went? I say dark horse is Parker Rosenau who has shown his talent and is ready to dip into top 10 in cross. Also, no way Lerdall wins. Don’t @ me
No chance Kirtley will get top 10 this year. I would be shocked if he was top 25. Everyone else I could see them getting top 10.
4th of july results, anyone?
I heard Gustavus is getting 4 of Stillwater’s top 8 distance runners. Noah Johnson 1:54 (state 4 x 800 anchor), Jack Degonda 4:30, Ben Wicklund 9:40 (#3 guy in cc) and Matt Payne 9:55

That adds some more young talent to Gustavus. They are looking to have a strong sophomore class this year too. Gives them a bright future.
Lets get some predictions out here... Top 10 individual and teams??
Top 10 teams will be Bethel, Carleton, Concordia, Gustavus, Hamline, Macalester, St John's, St Mary's, St Thomas and St Olaf.
In that order

Wait, this post is the reason I got excited about the MIAC thread popping back up?
Biggest dark horses going into the season?
I don’t want to give away too much yet, people will see after the first week or two of the season, but there’s a runner who has historically been 3-5 for their team coming back this fall that will make an enormous leap. Dude has been running 100 mile weeks since mid July now and just did a time trial alone on a track of a 4:12 true mile for shits and gigs off summer base. I would at least give a school so people can look back on this, but I don’t wanna jinx the guy and have him get hurt before the season starts. All I’ll say is he goes to a MIAC school not in the twin cities or Northfield.
