Regina Jacobs: Doubling at USA Champ and going for a record

But is she planning on running worlds? It would be very odd for a world indoor record holder to skip indoor worlds.

We will be questioning Ms. Jacobs after the race about her recently "improvements".

The 1500 is first on the USATF agenda and she already has that record, and she can probably run 4:08 or 4:09 and win. If she's going for any record, it would be in the 3000, which seems within her reach.

I can ALMOST guarantee that she won't be at World Indoors if they are doing blood testing. Depends on how her personal tests come out the week of, my guess.

Any pro Regina posters willing to change their stance if she turns up "hurt" for World Indoors?

Are they not drug or blood testing at this meet. They must not otherwise Regina wouldn't be caught within a hypodermic needle of the place.

WHEN REGINA GOT HER WORLD RECORD IN THE 1500 INDOORS SHE WAS BLOOD TESTED BY AN INDEPENDENT DRUG TESTING ORGANIZATION THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN THRILLED TO NAB HER (IT VALIDATES THERE AUTHORITY). HER WORLD WOULD NOT BE RECOGNIZED OTHERWISE. THERE WERE NO NIKE SCANDALS OR CRAIG MASBACK COVER-UPS. SHE WAS TESTED AND THERE IS NO DOUBT (IF RATIFIED) THAT SHE WAS CLEAN ON THAT DAY. END OF STORY.

Not pro Regina. But believe she has taken way too much abuse on here, given she has never tested positive (Well to our knowledge). So VARunner I'm putting five on it. That she first makes the Worlds team and that she competes (Gives a honest effort) at Worlds.

Listen up Conto and listen good. I don't know what kind of denial or fantasy land you live in but the simple truth is that RJ is dirty plain and simple. She tested POSITIVE for banned substances after the 2000 Trials. The reson why she was not exposed is simple. If USATF let her go to the Games she would have tested positive and it would have made Masback and CO look bad. Basically they told her this; you drop out of the Games and we look the other way, you get to keep you new 5000 AR and no suspensions will be forthcoming.

The reason why they don't just expose her and other high profile dirty athletes is for fear of losing what little corporate sponsorship mony there is.

Lets say they did expose her. Who is her sponsor and do they or do they not provide our countrys national uniforms?

Nike does not want to be associated with a "dirty sport" even though they and others know what goes on. If Masback were to play Serpico and suspend every US athlete who was

dirty Nike and the rest would flee because of the bad publicity they would receive.

You can believe the PR bullshit that they feed us about

independent drug tests and all. But the rest of us lives in the real world. You don't believe that Flo Jo was clean now do you?

I personally know very credible people in our sport to confirm this and to feel comfortable that I am not dishing out shit. If you want reform I have a sugessition; Masback

needs to expose those athletes who are dirty and have them serve the approporiate suspensions. He needs to do this regardless of what corporate sponsors might think. In fack it may be the best thing; clean house and attract sponsors who won't bail on us if a high profile athlete proves to be dirty.

I agree that Regina have taken way too much abuse from posters that have no evidence of her doing anything wrong!

If Regina had tested positive for a banned substance I would be the first in line to pour an abundance of negative remarks; however, she hasn't tested positive for anything-EVER!

Regina will compete at the Worlds and I really think she will win or on a bad day nab the silver! Her form is exceptional this year and she deserve our support, my god people she runs for our country. If she medal does it not count as a medal for the United States as well as Regina?

regina is awesome and you darn yankees are too darn silly too appreciate her. i am so glad that she isn't moving up to the 5000m permanently as she would be quite good at the distance. i look forward to possibly running against her this year on the european circuit. good look regina on your double, go get em' lass.

I agree with your points COMPLETELY. However...aren't you yourself perpetuating the very veil of secrecy you are attacking? Look at it this way....those at the top (Masback, IAAF, etc.) are keeping mum/denying all allegations to protect thier "interests". Now, if you truly "know very credible people" who can confirm the dirt & drugs, why don't you yourself name names? Of course...you are protecting yourself. If, by chance, you are looking for a job in a running related company, you would never do such a thing. So, in essence, you are doing the same exact thing the "bad guys" are doing...protecting YOUR "interests". Perhaps post under another name, give the facts and names of your "very credible people", and let the chips fall where they may. So...?

Well said skylon. A lot of people on this board say they have the "inside" information. But when it comes time to step up the room seems to go silent.
