This is molly's territory. When it gets to 30k that is Hasay's territory, because she is a fast marathoner.
Can Molly transition into being a fast marathoner? The first half isn't the problem, but can she sustain and maintain speed endurance for the second half of the race?
Boston will let us know.
Hasay looks to be in good marathon form best on her time. Boston is going to be serious.
great win by Molly,
When I was working with Nike in Boulder, we did an analysis and came up with this;
Elite marathoners run their marathons at (almost precisely) three times their 15km times .

So that puts Molly at about 2:23:30....sounds too slow?
Once again rojo shows what an a55hat he is by posting that thread title. I'm a big fan of both Huddle and Hasay. Why do you feel the need to try and tear down and denigrate a runner who obviously had a very good race?
Huddle has been winning every national road title she has run the last few years. There is nobody in the world picking Hasay to beat Huddle at 15k but that doesnt mean Hasay ran poorly. Always remember when you post garbage like that it tells more about you than it does about the person you are posting about.
You seam to have a liking to changing thread titles. You should consider doing that here.
Considering her PR is 2:28 it doesn't sound slow.

It also puts Ms. Hasay at 2:30 SLOWER that Ms. Huddle for a marathon prediction by the poster.
That puts Ms. Jordan Hasay at a 2:26 marathon prediction by the poster.
Ouch. This is not good news for Ms. Hasay and Coach Alberto.
Ms. Hasay has a 5000m PR of 15:28.56 and a 10K PR of 31:39.67
It turns out that Ms. Molly Huddle has a 5K PR of 14:42.64 and a 10K PR of 30:13.17, which is the fastest time ever run by an American woman.
Ms. Huddle just ran a Half-marathon in January with a time of 1:07:25, which is the fastest time ever run by an American woman, and went through 15K in 47:29 in that race.
A 1:07:25 Half marathon is the equivalent of about a 46:49 15K...so it looks like Ms. Huddle has the potential for a 2:20:27 marathon.
OK.
That looks better now.
Huddle will end her career with the American marathon record and a couple major wins. Maybe a medal in 2020 Olympics. She is the best female American distance runner of all time.
The 30:13 10K PR of Molly Huddle is the equivalent of a 46:36 15K.
Ingrid Kristiansen had a 30:13.74 10K PR and a 2:21:06 marathon PR back in the 1986 and 1985, respectively.
They were both world records at the time.
The times of Ms. Paula 'Pantani' Radcliffe and the two Chinese dopers should be erased from the record...which makes Molly Huddle the fastest clean female 10000m runner who is not from Kenya or Ethiopia...in the entire history of this planet.

I bet Hasay could destroy her 5k/10k PRs if she had any interest. Her 47:50 today is 1:38 faster than her 49:28 at the same race last year and the pace is not much slower than her 10k PR.
how is anyone drawing conclusions of any kind from this race when neither of them had any kind of pacer, no pack, not even another runner after 10K ?
both of them had to grind it out solo
congrats to them both, this decade will be Huddle's, next decade might belong to Hasay

Except Hasay ran 48:40; Huddle ran 47:50. Nice reading comprehension.
Are these still on the market?

congrats! to Molly!
All three ladies ran terrific.
Bostonis going to be great to see.
Molly's time, I'd put her in the 2 24 range, interesting to see what Boston holds.
Jordan s event is the marathon. I am looking forward to seeing her running Boston!

disagree. she is too much of a track stride/form runner than a smooth, not too bouncy, marathon runner.
Also thrilled to see that Molly Seidal is healthy and running well.

Bingo.
Here is the "perfect" marathon stride of Alberto:

In Jordan's defense, she ran almost a minute faster than she did last year. Molly's 47:50 would have smoked just about anyone, it's got to be close to the American record. I don't think anyone in the world broke 48 last year. I hate how this post assume's Jordan ran poorly rather than the fact that Molly ran great.
Jordan ran great, for Jordan. But did anyone expect her to beat Molly over 15k? The shorter the race the more the smart money is on Molly to win. Even a half marathon I think you can give an edge to Molly.
Correct. wrote:

If your theory is correct, then why does Jordan PTG Hasay have a faster 1500m PR (4:07.70) than Molly Huddle (4:08.09)?????
That is a problem with your theory.
Oh well.
I heard at this forum from some "LRC experts" who said that doing yoga will destroy your running economy/efficiency.
It turns out that Ms. Molly Huddle has been doing...more Yoga.
"My running resolution: Work more on mobility drills and YOGA when I can, to help combat years of mileage-induced stiffness."
Another "LRC expert" theory is... turned to dust.
