Organizing a beer mile - Get Permission From the facility?

It's better to beg forgiveness than ask for permission.

There is an extremely high chance that they will say no. In the very low chance that they say yes, there will certainly be a facility use permit and cost involved.

Your best options are either make it clear people cannot take video, or change the venue. If the video gets out (and it will), it could result in the facility being closed during what used to be your workout time.

There is surely a public park near you that allows beer, or beer with a permit. Get a wheel and mark off a makeshift track on a grass course. Dont tell the park you are doing a beer mile or they might want a different event fee, just get the permit to have a beer and tell them it is a gathering of friends. Running in circles isn't any more disruptive than if you were playing volleyball or something.

They won't "stumble on the video" unless they've participated in the beer mile themselves.

Just do it at night and don't post videos. Though do like the other poster's idea of marking out a course in a public park - even if you don't get a permit, I can't imagine anyone caring even if they do see the video.

"Organize" is a strong word, bro. Me and my mates just went to the track with our bud lights and Coronas and hammered it out like any other workout, except it was a Friday night. We didn't put it on social media because we don't general produce video evidence that we are idiots.

I mean I was a 35 year old professional the last time I did one. You kids are all about "doin' it for the 'gram." You should just do it to enjoy yourselves.

Ensure to let the facility know that no shirts or dignity will be present at the race as well
