He anchored his team in the DMR and won the title by .01 seconds. I realize a NAIA champion is far from a D1 national championship but I'm still happy for the guy. It was obvious he wasn't in a good place last year at Penn State, and I'm glad to see him running well!
What happened with the mile? 3rd place...far from ideal from a sub 4 miler. Either way congrats to Michael on the DMR

Kidding aside, I believe that Slagowski will eventually be a top US competitor. He's on the mend after some bad experiences and some injuries, they're slowly working him back to being the top flight runner he was.

It was? I never saw him on social media and he was at like one meet.
I would say nothing was obvious, it was mostly speculation. Does anybody know what the deal was? Has anything been updated?
Things happen. Or sometimes, nothing happens and kids then get frustrated because they can’t figure out what is going on. I hope he recovers because he has great talent.
It has happened many times before though. Do you remember Josh Evans? He was 4th in the Dream Mile in 2014 behind only Fisher, Maton, and Haney hitting a full mile in 4:04. This was in the olden days (before 2015) when the best high school runners didn’t break 4. Probably even more impressive was his state meet performance where he won 4 events going 1:50, 4:06, 9:00, and split 1:49. Evans went to distance power house Iowa State for 2 years but transferred after 2 years to Colorado Mines and now hit a college best of 4:10. Sounds much like Slagowski.
Dude got out of a bad situation at Penn St and is making the most of it. He's young and crazy talented and just helped 3 other guys win a DMR.

Results I’m seeing say they won. He was also second in mile. Not too shabby. My guess is he is a Duck in 18 months.
Pretty sure that the 'dq' result is incorrect, they stood on the podium for first. Some of the live results show incorrect dqs, it happened in a few prelim events and was later fixed.
No way he ends up at Oregon. It will take another year for him to get back to 4 minutes and they will have 5 guys faster than him next year.
