That's it?
We are indicting people for screwing around on facebook?
Does freedom of speech not apply to non-citizens even though we give all sorts of benefits to non-citizens like free public school?
Let's hope trolling on letsrun.com by foreign nationals isn't indictable.
Trolls beware, the US just indicted a bunch of Russians for trolling Americans on social media.

thanks for the heads up comrade.

Word to the wise: Don't troll Russian athletes. Putin might have some payback in mind.
-
Interfering in a national election is not talking s**t on a runner's message board.
“Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing. I think that you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press—let’s see if that happens, that’ll be nice.” --- Donald Trump in 2016. -
Who knew that a handful of posts on Facebook was worth spending millions of dollars to investigate and prosecute? (Actuality, there will never be any prosecutions of these Russians -this is all for show.)
The optics of announcing these indictments on the same day that the FBI admitted they dropped the ball on the Miami shooter couldn’t be worse. How many of law enforcement resources have been diverted from actual crime prevention to be wasted on this frivolous Russia “election meddling” story? -
The history books shall record the Great Russian Trolling Scandal of 2016, and how President Trump brought the world to the brink by trolling Hillary about how Russians might find her lost emails.
The Cold War with Russia has now turned in the Troll War with Russia, where each country uses fake news and distasteful innuendo to take down the other. The trolling is sure to escalate to dangerous levels as each country uses harsher and meaner language, and ... God forbid ... maybe even violate politically correct speech codes!!! Leading to certain world annihilation.
We can only hope to reach a state of Mutually Assured Micro Aggression (MAMA), where both sides can be certain that if one side makes the other side cry, then EVERYONE will be made to cry! Let's all hope and pray it never comes to that. -
Uuh thanks for the warning. Perhaps i should declare myself a virtual immigrant to get more protection

It's a good thing that the US doesn't do this to any country in the world and we politely stay out of their electoral process.

There actually is quite a bit of legal precedents related to individual rights and Constitutional rights of non-citizens. You could read about it, if you please.
In the meantime, stop trolling your own message board. -
To everyone who is poo pooing this, isn't our sovereignty important to you?
These indictments are related to one element of Russia's efforts to destabilize the US and influence our internal electoral system. The scope of the trolls, bots, and fake news was massive. We all saw how the misinformation spread around the internet. Russia also hacked into our voting systems. These are all facts.
So, you guys are all good with an adversarial foreign government interfering in our sovereign, constitutional electoral process as long as it benefits your guy. That's great! And you all think you are the conservatives and people like me are RINOs. What a joke you phony Trump "conservatives" are. -
The OP did not bother to read the indictment before posting this. FYI campaign finance laws were broken.
And why are right wingers so eager to downplay Russian interference? I hope you realize that republican candidates like Marco Rubio were also hacked by the Russians and data stolen from their servers. -

Wait that gives me an idea. What if Dreamers identified as US citizens! -

Too bad the FBI spent all their time catching us. Ignore the tips on school shooters and catch the muh Russia bots. -

What if Jamin was a Russian? -
I just reported this post since it’s non running related. And non running threads should be deleted per the status quo.

Consider that they're hard at work at this website as well. Remember that much of what they do is designed to corrupt our political system. To the extent that it involves spending money to influence our elections, it is illegal.
From a Washington Post article on the subject:
"The law is clear that foreign nationals and foreign corporations are prohibited from making contributions or spending money to influence a federal, state or local election in the United States. The ban includes independent expenditures made in connection with an election.
But whether the Russian company broke the law by running ads on Facebook comes down to two big questions: What was in the content of the ads, and did a U.S. campaign assist the company in placing the ads." -
Interesting, but I thought Russian trolls were already on the letsrun.com payroll.

Truly unbeleivable.... What a waste time.

The real election scandal in 2016 was Hillary and the DNC rigging the primary against Bernie. If liberals cared about the sanctity of elections they would be tearing down the DNC and rebuilding it right now.
Trump didn't collude with Russia on this, and that's what matters. If you are worried about the influence of Fake News on our elections, then you should be mad at the MSM for pushing this Trump/Russian Delusion scandal for over a year. That has done more damage to the country than Russia did.
Don't bother me with Russian heckling even though they supposedly targeted my guy Cruz. The Russians didn't want Reagan to win in 1980 and were trying to influence our elections back then too. There's absolutely no way to keep foreign influence from using Facebook etc to do whatever they want to do. The people just have to decide what to believe on their own. I saw a lot of crap from both sides on Facebook that was obvious fake news, etc. It can't be stopped and any attempt to do so would be worse than letting it happen. -
As usual, you miss the point, rojo. Your ignorance is constantly amazing.
