The question implies you figure it's B.S.
Art is personal, it's about your relationship to it. Do you like it? Do you not like it? That's all you need to know.
There is a lot of marketing and B.S. out there. Some art connected to that stuff if good. Much of it is not good, but that brings us back to the subjective nature of art. It's all up to you, pardner.
I'm a graphic novelist, but that does not mean I know much about "art".

DISCUS
If you don’t get the modern art nobody can explain it to you. Art is not about a certain meaning. Everyone receives the information from the painting or a dance or a song by himself. I started to draw two years ago and since then I can say that from a hobby it turned into a real passion. I buy all the necessary tools for painting from this website. https://www.thebeginningartist.com/markers-for-wood/
I don't really get it either. I just look at it and think WTF is that? I can appreciate a nice painting though. A lot of modern art just looks like there is no skill. Having said that, there are some bits and bobs that are pretty good.
Modern art has jumped the shark. Ask any legitimate artist what they think of the Art Institute of Chicago. It's turned into a woke crapfest, with strict rules of what not to do. Alas, this is what happens when you commercialize an art form.

I am not so sure if you can jump this shark.
https://www.dailyartmagazine.com/story-damien-hirst-shark/Exactly. Modern Art began in the 1860s and encompasses so many different genres. It includes some of the best known artists of all time, including Monet, Van Gogh, Picasso, Matisse, and Dali. Also, some abstract art is in the "Modern" era and some is "Contemporary".
I assume the OP is a troll but the best way to start understanding Modern Art is to start visiting galleries and museums. MoMA in NYC is widely considered to be the first and most comprehensive collection of Modern Art in the world.

I think is an emperor has no clothes situation. This art doesn’t mean anything to anyone but the sophisticated types are too embarrassed they don’t understand the meaning so they act like they get it. Of course everyone else just pretends they get it too so they don’t look stupid. But nobody will break rank and call out this farce. And they’ll spend millions to keep it going. And the so called “artists” are laughing their way to the bank while talented artists struggle.
I don't think you understand the 'it' there is to get.
It's art, not a math equation or an SAT question.
Like no one at Sotheby's inspected this painting, or didn't think it odd that the weight was skewed to the bottom of the frame. Cynical and manipulative.
