but she TURNS IT DOWN, instead focusing on NIKE CROSS NATIONALS
Yeah I mean this is basically BS right? Like, Lane could've gotten the experience of going to NXN as well, but she made a choice to go to FL. This is dumb.

Not really. Foot Locker qualifiers for NY and the Northeast are on the same day as NXN regionals so athletes in those regions have to choose in advance with NXN or FL. That's not true of other regions. Even more, California runners can use their state meet time to qualify for NXN so they only have to prepare for one race. Further, the Foot Locker qualifier for the Western Region is on the same day as NXN so in a way, California athletes have a big advantage because if they fail to qualify for NXN at their State meet, they can still try to qualify for FL. Claudia Lane was one of those at a disadvantage because she did qualify for NXN but chose to go with Foot Locker and qualify on December 2, in lieu of NXN.
Good on Footlocker for offering it! I understand why Tuohy would turn it down, sadly.
I still feel like if we're going to have 2 national championships, keep NXN for teams only. Make foot locker the individual championship.

Personally I hope that it stays that way.
It wouldn't be fair to let in runners who haven't qualified from FL regionals.
Consider, if Lane ran NXN last Saturday, she'd probably be even more prepared for the FL finals than she is.
Other than this, I have no big objection if FL let in the first 3 or so runners from the NX finals.
The course is already crowded but perhaps 41 to 43 runners would not be much different than 40.
Keep fooling yourself. Footlocker is fading out of relevance each passing year. And I don't even like Nike in general, but this is one thing they have gotten right.
I gues it depends on age. I still don’t pay attention to NXN.

FL still wins as the bigger deal race.
NXN is clearly more team based.
Footlocker is individual with an internal region race thrown in for bragging rights. Footlocker is going nowhere, it showcases the cream of the crop in both boys and girls.
Now go ahead and tell me I'm wrong, I'll still sleep well tonight;)
The highest rated boy at FL is Kilrea, who got clobbered at NXN. Troutner is the national champion, end of discussion there. Just like last year.
Lane is at best equal to Tuohy, but it ends in a draw since the supposed adults can't seem to figure out how to put together a single national championship.
I miss the days when there one and only one, but I'm afraid Nike is succeeding in the takeover, and the best thing for the sport is for Footlocker to close up shop.

NXN is nothing but a bunch of paid Nike trolls bleating out the same senseless garbage over and over.
Good riddance to Nike when they fail.

There's another one. The Nike people are sick, sick, sick.
And I stay away from people like that.
Foot Locker said no "Golden ticket" was offered to Tuohy

what else is Foot Locker to say about getting shut down by Touhy? definitely happened, coach wouldn't say so otherwise.
it's good for the sport that they did do it, but wouldn't be fair to say Touhy is deserving, but Troutner isn't.
Footlocker indirectly denies again that they didn’t offer a golden ticket.

Of course they didn't offer. They were feeling it out by having a conversation, But it seems she or her coach or both said no before the actual offer was made. No technically, they "didn't offer". I am pretty sure they are trying to avoid the backlash of snubbing the top boys.
FOOT LOCKER was just SALTY that she TURNED THEM DOWN so they claimed that they NEVER OFFERED HER A TICKET in the first place.
