The figure is clearly the other astronaut who took the picture. But if you're confused by convex mirrors, then sure, I guess it could look like unequivocal proof of a nation-spanning conspiracy involving tens of thousands of people...or something.

Far more likely a conspiracy in JFK killing than faux moon landing conspiracy.

1) Conspiracy in JFK would have meant maybe a couple dozen people in government who were trained in cloak and dagger mystery and covert assassinations. Coming forward would be admitting involvement in capital murder.

2) Multiple faux moon landings would be a conspiracy of hundreds of people. There would not be a downside for some individuals to come forward.

Even if the moon landings were real, it would make sense to tape a staging on Earth contemporaneously, as you'd probably get better video capture with that anyway.

Why does anyone care if they were real or not?

Sending people to the moon was a meaningless stunt. If it was important, it would have happened again. Instead, as soon as the novelty wore off it was abandoned.

I know someone is gonna start moaning about the rocks and science and such. So maybe they can explain why so many satellites are in Earth orbit, and so many probes have gone to every planet in the solar system, and many of their moons, and several well beyond, in missions lasting decades, yet so far not one NASA probe has been sent to get more moon rocks and bring them back. Follow-up on the "science" part of Apollo is virtually non-existent. It wasn't important.

Actually that's photographic proof that there were angels on the moon with the astronauts. Remember, angels don't need space suits.
