Anyone else pay? Our feed went out mid-race. Then instead of a black screen, it looks like they decided to cover up the technical difficulties by sending it to a commercial (there was no announcement after a black screen a commercial was suddenly playing- late in the race). It went to a commercial or two and then came back mid-race. Anyone else get this?

Unreal: Flotrack $30 feed cut out mid-race, then they went to a commercial!!

We didn't clarify. It was the D1 men's race.

My feed never went out. I understand it is not perfect but I was able to watch the whole of both races with a decent feed which is all I wanted.

Did you get the commercial after the 20 minute make in the men's race? -
Why don’t you two and letsrun crew get off your dead azzes and do it better. I’m thinking it won’t turn up any better. On a positive note I hope you and yours had a chance to look at the fantastic job the NCAASports network did a number weeks ago with the conference meet actually held there at the Tom Sawyer course ... couldn’t have been better..! Continue to complain about the coverage or maybe spend some of your money and do it better.

The front cart camera in the D1 race was once again TERRIBLE! D2 was better but in the first race they were waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too far in front to make out any of the runners.
I lost feed numerous times...NOT HAPPY and they will hear about it, AGAIN!
I'm hoping they do their best work in the D3 meet, or they will definitely lose a subscriber! -

I didn't. My feed played all the way through the race. -
I'm hoping the replay plays smoothly...what I tried to watch live was horrendous!

The feed worked for me and looked pretty good overall. They got a lot of the pack action which was a nice change. I didn't see any ads during the race. Had some shaky camera from the lead vehicle at some points but I assume that's tough to avoid with driving through a park?

I won't say it quite as offensively (he has a right to, however), but I agree - one way to kill the FloTrack issue would be if you guys did it as well and charged a more reasonable fee. Competition creates a better product, and everyone would win. I realize they have paid for exclusive rights, but if you hired a lawyer and offered enough money to divide the rights, you'd likely get somewhere (everyone likes more money). You were willing to give Mike Rossi a pretty decent amount of cash to run a 3:11 marathon (which he could have probably accomplished if he put his mind to it). -
I'm not sure what happened to your feed but it streamed pretty well. There were a few 2-3 second transitions between cameras but it was otherwise pretty good. As stated earlier, the lead camera was shaky being bounced around the course (It's not like the smooth paved road of a marathon route).

Letsrun.com complaining about an advertisement interrupting and ruining their web experience? Oh the irony.
-
I'll give them a C for trying, but overall production was awful!

In my previous life I was a pro photographer, and I did a fair amount of video as well. If they wanted to make this go away, for as little as $100 they could buy a handheld gimbal. If they wanted to get fancy, they could pay a little more for a really good one. Not sure why they don't think of this when doing XC from the back of a vehicle. I thought of it when walking while filming a wedding, ffs.

You'll like it because there is no alternative. Isn't unregulated capitalism great? -
Why is anyone surprised it was a very poor quality product?
You'll like what they give you because the NCAA is a monopoly. -

Well one is free. One you pay $30.
If you pay for pay per view you should get commercial free content. At least during the event itself. I’d ask for a refund. -
Flotrack has not shown that they will provide any level of competency in their product. Your choices are pay for the bad product mainly because it is the only way to "see" the races or not pay for it and essentially not miss anything. I really have no idea why anyone would pay for it and/or have higher expectations. Until Flotrack shows that they can provide some sort of decent product no one should pay for it.

I would guess the bulk of the production was actually contracted out. No excuses but I'd be curious who wa actually doing the work.

this is better than the Flotrack Pay Feed
