hey guys i just had a question over what i could run righ tnow in the 800
i did this workout recently and was wondering what kind of shape i'm in
10 minute warmup, 20 minute steady run, 2 x 1000m in 3:34,3:33 (felt easy), then 3 X 500m in 1:24, 1:23, 1:19, wiht like 3-4 minute rest in between, then 3 X 100m in like 12-14 secs
ive been doing similar workouts for the past month or so and am in good fitness

This question was asked recently. Many people answered it but the best answer went something like this:
Go find a 400 meter track. Pick a point anywhere along the track. Run 2 laps as hard as you can. The time you get from that should be very close to what you can do for an 800 right now.
I say 2:07-2:08 if you are well rested.

haha, exactly. If you can't figure out what kind of 800m shape you are in by doing an 800m time trial, then how the hell can you figure out what kind of 800m shape you are in by doing a workout consisting of 1000's, 500's, and 100's??? As if that workout were so much more similar to an 800m as opposed to an 800m time trial.
