Why do you think that is?
What are you getting at? I don't know why that is? They don't want to compete in cycling goods?
Do people here buy shoes on Amazon or do they go to runningwarehouse? I go to runningwarehouse and suspect most people on this website do too.
My family of 4 buys our running shoes at Nike Outlet, RunningWarehouse, Amazon, and a few other online stores. I bought 4 pair of Brooks Ghost 8 for about $55 each from Dick's Sporting Goods online last year. RunningWarehouse may have about the best prices if you catch the shoe you want as it reaches the end of its model lifecycle but I have seen the prices go back up on some shoes and then there is the issue of running out of the size one needs. RunningWarehouse's price on Saucony Echelon is $50 but only in 6B. Others are $130. I have always found the best price for these in the size I need for one of my children on Amazon. So it is hit and miss on size for clearance prices on some shoes or full price for ones in stock. I recently bought Adidas Boston 6 for $84 - $15 from Adidas eBay store and from Adidas.com for $84 - 20% coupon code. I bought Adidas Supernova shoes from Adidas eBay Store for $75 - $15 paypal promotion. I discovered that their eBay store had the Supernova in a color not found at Adidas.com for a cheaper price than other Supernova colors at Adidas.com I did buy two pair of Pegasus from Nike Outlet store for $35 each for my wife but there were probably the last two they had in the store of that color (pink) and model. Another time I bought Nike Terra Kiger for $25 from Nike Outlet. These too were likely the last in the store.
It is not a model they even have ever sold in mass so I am not how they ended up in the store.
Most times I have been to the Outlet I have not found any super deals like these. If the store were closer to me I might check weekly and may find more deals. Normally the Pegasus are$80 in the outlet and I found them cheaper at Nike.com when they had a limited time 20% additional off promotion. Adidas has 15% at their online store all the time if you register with a new e-mail address. My local Adidas Outlet has a very limited selection of running shoes so I have never purchase shoes from them. There are many Nike shoes recommend in the forums here that I have never seen in my outlet store. Most are the highly recommended, lighter weight, Nike shoes that runners recommend for races. I stopped searching for shoes at my local specialty running stores because they almost never have the model I want in my running shoe size, 13, or they don't sell the model at all. If they did have them they would be priced at full retail of $120 or more. With easy, free returns at
Nike.com/NikeOutlet, Adidas.com, and Amazon I don't mind trying them on and returning if they do not fit. I have used Shoekicker.com at times to search for shoes but lately they indicate the shoes are available in sizes that are not actually available at the stated price once I go to the seller's site such as RunningWarehouse or Amazon.
