I just wrapped up a base training cycle where I've averaged about 45 miles a week for the last 6 months. This included three weeks at average of 15 miles. Peak week was 61 and peak month 225. I did virtually nothing "fast" aside from strides once a week at 1 mile pace.
Last weekend I ran a 5k in 19:30. My goal for the marathon in 12 weeks (Houston) is 3:15. Is this reasonable based on my mileage and 5k time coming out of base? Last November I ran a 1:31 half but not enough miles for a good marathon.
I am a 35 year old male, 5'10", 160 lbs. experienced marathoner but working harder than ever before.
