On wikipedia, it shows that he had the WR, lost it and then got it back again in 1964. I believe he'd be the only person to have had the men's marathon WR lost it and then gotten it back.

So which is it?

We very much know how to read wikipeida and read the table. We just were wondering if maybe back in the day they didn't round numbers like they do or if perhaps Wikipedia was incorrect.

I see it was actually in '63. The fact that he was running with Wolde made me think it would have been closer to '68.
Wolde was an Olympian back in '56.
