I wondered the same thing but I couldn't find one thing on the internet or on Instagram about Nike having an ambassador program. I actually got curious and called Nike and they said they don't have any program like that currently and there is no running club in our state. Plus his social media accounts are private which would defeat the purpose, wouldn't it?
You're right. I know the instas and know of a lot of runners on there who get free gear. I can say 100% that there is no official ambASSadorship program (I prefer to call these hobby jogger programs) offered by Nike.
Although like others have implied, people who work for Nike can get discounted or free items. But this is nothing to do with a sponsorship or any other exchange of goods for promotion.
There are a lot of average runners who are on hobby jogger programs from Brooks, Mizuno, Altra, Saucony. But never Nike, and possibly not New Balance either. He's lying. Trying to get laid via deception is his primary motivator no doubt.
