Later in the week, we'll be unveiling a great lengthy feature where we take an in-depth look at the Syracuse men's program and break down how Chris Fox and company built a national championship program from scratch in the span of 10 years.

Day #2 .
The Penn State women haven't been in the top 10 since 1994 but they may do it this year, if their stars run. If you know what's up with Chikotas or Barrett for Penn State, please post it here or email us .

As for the men, some may think we over ranked Oregon since they are losing Cheserek but it's hard to discount the Ducks. As for Wisconsin, it all depends if they decide to redshirt McDonald so he can take a crack at the NCAA title on home turf in 2018. We imagine he'll end up redshirting so they may not end up at #7.

I'm only doing this because the Bros worked so hard to put this info out and I feel bad for them.
Go Thomas Radcliffe. -
Would McDonald redshirt just to go for the win on home turf? Seems like that would stunt his growth.
-
Go Badgers!!!!

He would have to contend with Fisher next year as well. A win for McDonald is no sure thing. -
what about point park? the boofalos are in great position this year to win it all!

Providence's top woman might be an America, Catarina Rocha.

Today's teams are up as well

Hard to believe Stanford last won in 2003. -
Not hard to believe.
If you understood what took place with change at the top of Stanford's school administration and the changed expectation on incoming student athlete test scores in the early 2000's then you would also understand why Vin left for Oregon. -
Dressel has redshirted according to TFRRS https://xc.tfrrs.org/teams/xc/CO_college_m_Colorado.html

Providence's top woman might be an America, Catarina Rocha.
She could be, but three other women could be their #1 come November - another American, an Australian and a Canadian. Since we all know Canada is the 51st state of the U.S., there's a 75% chance that Providence will have an American as their #1.
In the big picture, it's irrelevent who their number one is as they have so much depth.
Don't sleep on this team. The Friar's will podium at the big dance. -
Isabel Zimmermann is a redshirt for NC State according to TFRRS

Also it seems Colorado is only returning 2 runners from NCAA's last year on the women's side due to redshirts! https://www.tfrrs.org/teams/xc/CO_college_f_Colorado.html

Believe that TFRRS page is only showing they ran un-attached at their last/ 1st race (at the CSU Duals) of the season, and NOT that they are all definitely redshirting the whole upcoming season. Colorado (and assume most other teams) ALWAYS runs runners un-attached the 1st race or two if they have a red-shirt year to use just in case they decide (or have to due to injury) to red-shirt them later, while in most cases they end up NOT red-shirting.
(I'd guess, due to their depth:
1) One or two of Colorado's top returning women with the redshirting option MAY (???) end up using that option, but not all 4 of them (D. Jones, Morley, Hurta and Benner) like that "roster" shows.
2) The true freshmen of course (Bent, B. Jones, Intile and Brooks), esp. with the depth, could be likely candidates for being red-shirted.
3) Finally, that roster shows Erin Clark as a red-shirt, but she's already used all her cross country eligibility, and assume she was using the CSU race as a fun training run with friends/ teammates for the upcoming track season, where she does have a year of eligibility left.) -
Our NCAA xc countdown is now complete on the front page. More importantly, we also have a 6,000+ word feature on how Syracuse went from being a nothing to national champion in 10 years under Chris Fox and company.

NAU will win NCAA if Andy Trourd run the way he had run on the outdoor season. The kid is a big talent and he got speed and endurance, he can easily get top 20, and if he gets top 20, NAU will have three guys on the top 20, which will make them hard to beat. Corey should be top 40, Beamish and Peter right behind him on the top 50. I think NAU have a big chance to repeat as a national champion. Go JACKS!

Arkansas ladies made a statement this weekend.
7 women running 5:2X miles for a 6K this early in the season?
Was that a lightning fast course or are they that good?
