Been there, as a sophomore. The older guys mocked me for doing intervals. I showed them my heels in races.

Agree completely. Looking back on HS the one thing I would have wanted to be even more aware of is this. Be yourself and trust yourself. Open to advice, mind you, discussion, but not worrying about those other opinions. You will also find that while some voice such things, the silent others may likely admire you or at least admire what you are doing for added training.
