She looks fine. Reminds me of Wilma Rudolph.

It's cold, raining, and Koch was one of the most comically doped athletes in history.
Great run by Francis.
I find it very interesting you didn't pipe up with the same comments made earlier about the 400 hurdles...so you think Young was clean? My *ss
Holy sh*t Warholm is insane!

I admittedly know little about Kevin Young and whether or not he was clean. I do know that Koch's record is a joke. Also the strength of the women's 400 is fine right now, while the men's 400H field was admittedly weak this year.

Actually, the field was the same strength as the last few years, and really the only field you might say that could have been stronger in the last 10 years was back in 2010. Why would you say that the field is weak particularly this year? This is very interesting.
Payback for diving across the line last year

Only one guy under 48 all year, and he went out in the prelims. Clement has had a great career, but he's past his prime. Warholm is good, but nothing incredible for a world champion. Hardly a loaded final.

Like I said. Other than 2010, the last ten years were similar to 2017 with the top 10 runners around 48.30 or less. Last year there was a couple more that squeaked under 48, and that was the Olympic final in ideal weather. You seriously think Warholm would not have gone way under 48 today? Please.
There is no difference in the strength of the field, there is only a difference in how you are seeing it.
If that's the case, then the event has been struggling for the better part of this decade. Doesn't really make a difference to my original point, which was about the women's 400.
This weather does no favor sprinters. It favors distance runners. All distance runners get warm after about 1 mile, so WE Are good.
But for sprinters to start out cold?.....everyone's body does not respond the same.
Cold weather is as rough on speed events as heat is on distance events.

Pretty sure that's Jarmila KratochvÃlová and not Koch. Koch looked masculine and was surely on something, it would seem, but not as masculine as Kratochvilova. Here they are in the same photo.

Why did Lewis Johnson speak French-accented English to Bosse when he interviewed him? That's the funniest thing I've seen all day.
Lewis speaks French. Learned it in his rabbiting days.
Some people will use accented English with French, Italian, etc.,
peeps, because it may help the listener understand the English.
Marita Koch was a cutie. Some runners in the 800 women events these days on the other hand
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
