USA USA USA! Semenya dives through the line for 1500m BRONZE, stealing it right from MUIR!
Holy crap!! Got robbed of a medal by a man!!

So progressive. All of those hours spent training has nothing on the PC juggernaut.
Level Playing field, and Muir would have had a medal in front of her home crowd. Very sad for Muir.. Not fair. BS.
She want wayyyyyyyyy too early, she had the "pain face" final 50m look on with 150m to go!
Muir ran a gutsy race, but due to political correctness, she is not ever allowed to vent about this injustice.
Muir was only the third best runner in that race to go home devastated, but for some reason everybody likes talking about her. Hassan and Dibaba = more devastated.
Was happy to see Muir get shut out, but the only runner I dislike more than her is Simpson so I would have rather Hassan held on to beat them
Both

Nor are any women allowed to speak about it. Well, we could try but we'd most likely lose our jobs, be charged with "hate speech" or threatened by activists. Athletes speaking out would lose their funding.
Brief was the period of womens' distance running. Who would have thought it would end so soon?

Remind me next race to screw up my face in contortion so people will call me "Gutsy" instead of "Loser".
Sorry she had a bad day, but I would have respected LM more if she had just admitted she bombed instead of parroting "....I gave it my best shot..."

I'll say it. She was feckin robbed. Caster should be in the paralympics for men without a dick, not in an event for women just because he doesn't have one.
The PC brigade can go feck themselves.
Laura Muir is the bronze medalist for me, she ran a gutsy race - and one with tactics made necessary by the man in it.
I was banned for much less than this... oh well.

The third best runner?? Hassan?? I think 3:55>3:56 every time..
Seeing how Muir missed May and June due to a stress fracture, I think gutsy would be a good description. Instincts to always race for the win with the possibility of failure, especially after less than ideal preparation shows the determination of a champion. Unfortunately this also presents the opportunity to be criticized by some armchair coaches. Jenny races well and wins medals, but has she raced to win a major championship since 2011? Toast Simpson. However by your description of Muir, is Jenny not a loser as well?

Fortunately she has a shorter trip home than most devastated runners.

only extreme restraint prevented Semenya from running 3:55. Two golds would be two much.
Hilarious all the sudden 1500m experts. No criticism of Hassan who 'did a Muir' by going WAY too fast, blowing up and coming 5th? If that was Muir's idea by slowing it right down on lap 2 then it was not without success. Everyone was talking about how Hassan was going to win this.
she didn't miss a couple of months training and in any case she repeatedly said that she was back in top form. Before the race Paula, Steve and the crew were saying her short break might even have been a good thing. Only after the race did it become a reason for her weak last 80 meters.
Physically she ran an OK race, mediocre tactically, just lost out. C'est la vie, as we Brits say. On to the next race!

Laura Muir is the most exciting female runner on the planet at the present time.
However, Laura is not the smartest or the best female human runner on this planet at the present time (which is just like Steve Prefontaine).
This entire race was a debacle.
It started within the first 30 seconds when Laura set the pace and let everyone draft off her, which wasted energy. I yelled at Laura "What are you doing!" but it didn't do any good because the race was already over, and I was watching a replay hours later.
Laura slowed the second lap to 72 seconds. What is the point of leading the first lap if you are going to run a 72 second second lap? There is no point. (Laura should of let other people lead the first 2 laps and then go for a long sustained fast finish, putting the hurt on everyone.) Then she got boxed in, and wasted more energy getting out and running around everyone. Then she did not control herself and went too hard way too early in the last lap.
Even with all of this (and her lost training time from injury), things still looked OK in the last 100m. I thought that Faith Kipyegon would probably win this race. OK. Laura can still get the silver.
No. Jenny Simpson is going by Laura, and will win the silver medal.
OK. I like Jenny Simpson. Laura can still get the bronze.
Then someone who has much higher testosterone levels than anyone else in the race runs past my speedy 'wee sparra' Scot Laura Muir and steals the bronze medal by 0.07 seconds.
That is not OK.
Now I feel sick and have a really bad headache.
