I just found his channel and it seems like he's on a crusade to convert everyone to veganism. Why the hell does he care? What's his deal?

You just found him? That's great. I remember my first day on the internet too.
your parents lifted the youtube.com block today??
He is not only for real, but he is correct in terms of nutrition. While it's not necessary to be vegan by any stretch, you need to CTFU or get out of endurance sports.
Vegan = Dietary transgender.
It is the denial of the biological basis of our humanity.
Humans have eaten meat and been healthy and thrived for two million years, it is why we ventured out on to the savannah in the first place and developed cooperative hunting and a prefrontal cortex. But suddenly it is a "thought crime" against our furry buddies (who would die without our care in any case) and the basis of hatred of all who oppose the Brave New World of psuedo-nutrition.
Carbs are inversely related to diabetes. CTFU, or stay slow.
Durianrider and drewlikesrice are both full of bs. CTFU is one thing, veganism is something completely different.

Did u witness any of this 2 million years ago? And I eat meat btw but ur explanation looks terrible for us humans. No wonder why aliens stay away from us.

Um...ever heard of the ecological fallacy?
Confounding?
Durianrider is well known as a disability benefits fraudster. While extolling the benefits of his healthy lifestyle he was collecting the dole because he was physically incapable of working.
Ironic.
Guy is a j/o. Nutritionally.... Eh. Veganism is great until it's not. I have firsthand experience. Now if you eat like a vegan but add meat a few times per week, you have a sound and biologically sustainable diet.
He's like thousands of youtubers in that he's got an agenda to push, isn't stupid but isn't very intelligent either, and thrives on attention.
Wrt to the last point, in his case he also very obviously has a personality disorder (probably narcissistic). That doesn't make him a bad person (to quote him), it's not his fault, but be aware of it. He really is not quite all there.
What the heck is CTFU.
CTFU = "Carbed Thinking (is) F---ed Up"

His cycling advice is quite solid. Perhaps a little fanatical on the "you must buy a power meter", but even that I can understand where he is coming from.
Yes. He really is a insane as he looks.

Not really. We have eaten some meat for a long time, but not that much meat. Also, if we go back in time, we have much longer evolutionary history as pure herbivores. We are still closer to herbivores than carnivores genetically. This shows clearly in our cholesterol metabolism for example. Carnivores do not develop atherosclerosis. We do. In a modern western food environment all our nutritional needs can be satisfied without eating animal produts and it's much healthier than eating too much meat and other animal foods. That said, I am not a strict vegan or even a vegetarian.

Carb the F--- up. I.e. pour huge quantities of sugar on your food/in your drink, eat large plates of plain white rice, drink litres of Sprite and eat 30 bananas a day. You'll soon get the message if you watch him - he repeats the same thing over and over. Fat makes you fat, sugar makes you lean as f---. Not lean enough? Eat more sugar, look at me, 2% bodyfat. Etc. etc.
Some of what he says is spot on but a lot is rubbish. Even a stopped clock tells the right time twice a day. A fascinating character for a short while, as people with disorders sadly tend to be, but then you see his limits and get bored. Would make a decent case study though.
