Pretty sure that's the fastest American 1500m race ever as far as depth.
The US used to have trouble getting 6 Americans under 3:37 in one year let alone one race.

Several of them seem to be on the upswing. Huge PR for Engels and he's headed to Europe. I think he will be a good training partner for Jenkins. Centrowitz ran a nice controlled race. Plenty of time for all of the world guys to sharpen up a little more.
Asks the 4:30 high school miler.......

Last year's final for the TTSS was pretty deep

whys the standard so soft
They want a balanced field representing a lot of nations.
Unlike the Olympics they are not under pressure to reduce the field size.
People saying RECENTLY that Robby is a championship racer are correct. They are referring to the national and world stage. All due respect to his previous titles and records! Talent has always been there for Robby. He's making moves in races now that he was not making a couple of years ago. He's adapting. He got hit in Portland, and did not hit back. He got hit last night, and he hit back and made it happen for himself. Always learning. Great sign. And a pretty damn good day and age to cheer for American milers. Enjoy it.
Soft? That's a 3:52 mile.
If it is so soft perhaps you should try it.
I will tell you who is soft, Centro..., What happened to him? Was he just a flash in the pan?
The standard is about the same as usual.
Its harder when you consider that you normally can take your time from a prior year and now they have to hit it this season.
Worlds qualifying season opened on first of Oct '16 to give the antipodes a fair shot.

Pretty good race, got 4 guys under
Looks like Sal will be working with Engels on that closing speed and tactics more
So, If Engels had not been watching himself (coming to the finish) on the jumbo tron at USATF, and let Gregorek sneak past him, he would be on this World Championship team right now!!!! Lesson learned. Where is Larry Rawson when you need him? "You kids at home..."

Engels still got the standard (3:35.95). If any of the 3 currently going (Centrowitz, Andrews, Gregorek) become injured or otherwise drop out then he goes to Worlds.
Maybe one, or more, of those names shows up on another Fancy Bears list.

They want some real Americans to have a shot.
Yet barely any can make it. USA is piss-weak in the 1500.
Blankenship should have been on it.

What happened to him is that he ran 3:34.83 a few hours before every single 1500 runner in NYC ran slower.
P.S. Centro is not soft. If you think he is, perhaps you should try to beat him yourself.
I can't get much below 10% BF without getting sick so I'm not hating on the guy.
That being said, has anyone ever seen a lean Robby Andrews?
Much ado about not much. He barely made it into the first qualifying round of "Worlds", which are not actually world championships but internationals. (Why is Pichardo not allowed to compete as ANA?)
Same day shot puts of 22.18, 22.18, 22.35 do not rate mention or even a direct link on LRC. If one is a puny little runner it is quite worthwhile to treat the weightmen as friends; it does pay off.
Exactly. Other than the indoor and outdoors nationals, Robby mostly does smaller domestic or second-tier international races, often against runners who are not in his class. That strategy has pretty much worked, as he has made one Olympic and two World teams. The only drawback is he doesn't have the low PRs he is capable of, except in the indoor mile.
It also leaves him with work to do to make qualifying standards, but he's been able to come through in that regard.

Because there are so many self-loathing people posting here.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
