19 year old Wil London, the world junior silver medallist last year, ran 44.47 out of lane 1 to finish 3rd and qualify for Worlds. London, who ran in lane 1 at the NCAA final and finished last there, said his goal today was just to get in the top 6 and try and get on the USA relay pool.
Instead he ran a .55 of a second pr and made the Worlds team. Baylor coaching legend Clyde Hart came up during the interview and congratulated London and then tried to put in perspective. The man who coached Michael Johnson and Jeremy Wariner said it was 'Easily one of the top performances I've had a quarter miler do under the circumstances"
