Hi guys, first sorry for my english.. And sorry for using kilometres and not miles...
I am 15 years old athlete (176cm, 52kg) and i just can't race really well... I am training every day For 3k and 1500m (or 6-8 times a week...) And i am training pretty hard, but my race pace Is like ten times slower than my training...
For example
I can run intervals 5*400 around 1:00-1:03, 5m rest between each (99% hard for me)
or 3*1k around 3:07-3:03, 7m rest, this was actually pretty easy for me it felt like 88%)
10*200m 27-28s/200m jog between each... (actually still pretty easy 92%)
I have 3-4 easy runs (6-12k) (how am i feeling pace (4:40-5:30/km), 1 or 2 faster interval trainings (200-400m) and 1 or 2 longer interval trainings (1k, 800m), depends on which distance am i going to race.. And two days before race i have day off and one day before i just run 2*400m in race pace..(in pace what i want to have in race...) So i am well rested..
And still i am running on race day slowly as hell...
(Personal bests 3k- 9:59, 1,5k- 4:35) and i am not stressed or anything, i am feeling fine before race... Know how to stretch and everything..
And i know, that my friend (season best this years in our category 3k- 8:57) run slower at training when he was my age and was training as long as i and had time under 9:40... And guys in my category with times around 10m have much easier workouts... I just can't figure out why am i so slow on the race day... So i Hope you have some tips how can i improve my race results.... I am really sad, 'cause i want to really improve and be at least in top 5 in our country next years at 1,5k mainly 3k... Maybe i'll try 2k steepl.. I know i need to be more patient, but i am loosing my mind...
