You do jump that first barrier if you have an outer water jump, nothing wrong there, albeit pretty dangerous and not too common.

rooting for Allie, just so much fun to watch her wind up and gooooo
also fun because it is so easy to spot her in any race, just look for the one that looks like a small hs freshman among college seniors
I'll miss seeing her in the 5000 but steeple is good enough for me if it works for her
The UNH kid Prunier has been training in one of the coldest, dampest springs in memory, including snow 2 weeks ago. Wonder what should would be doing if she could go to Stanfud?

i think her progress has been good at UNH, going from 4:50 in the mile to 4:29.
if she went to stanford she would have been out of the sport 2 years ago.
stanford ruins more young female talent then all other schools in this country combined.
Getting hurt and going backwards...

seeing allie mix it up w/ these pro runners makes me thing she's gotta be the favorite. I can't see Purrier being that competitive w/ the pro's
Elle has run at the Wanamaker mile and mixed it up with the pros on multiple occasions. She's one of the toughest runners out there and probably doesn't even know who Allie O is. She'll dictate the race and still out kick Allie O. 7th in XC and has 4:28 mile speed, and already run 9:43 by herself. This should shut people up.

Well the reason they have race is to see who is better. Should be a good match up.
is Elle going to sit and kick or run from the front?
Sarah Edwards over Allie O
I'm guessing they have never raced each other head-to-head? I see that Purrier was listed as a junior when she came in 7th at NCAA XC in 2016 (Allie was injured). However, Purrier (then a soph) was not in the NCAA XC field in 2015 when Allie came in 2nd place to Seidel.
Where is Allie's teammate?
I don't believe they've ever raced, Purrier redshirted 2015 XC. She has a full year of eligibility next year, though, so they'll probably battle in XC too. I wouldn't be surprised if they went 1-2 in XC.
Although I can see them going 1-2 in the steeple, it is much tougher to imagine them going 1-2 at XC. Although it is possible, I think there are too many variables and too many other very accomplished runners.
Re: other post, I believe Brenna is a RS this season. I think she had minor nagging injuries.
I hope Allie, Brenna, Clare, and others are all 100% this Fall. I can imagine them on the podium at XC Nats.
Final predictions? Did you see anything in the prelim that makes you think anyone is the favorite?
I think Ostrander wins just because Purrier was not good w/ the barriers in traffic, she was stepping on them.
Training and living in "crappy" weather makes one tough. Have you ever met anyone from California? Biggest bunch of pussies I've ever seen. They all melt down and can't even drive when it friggen RAINS. If ISIS wants to take out California all they need to do is make it snow during rush hour.

Elle always steps on the barriers, it didn't have to do with being in traffic (she talks about it in one of her post-race interviews). I like her to win, but Allie is still a bit of an unknown for me as far as her ceiling in the event. Both were very controlled in their prelims
Purrier and Allie O will race like crazy and the Colorado FR will out-kick at least one on them!
You heard it here first!
Whoop! Whoop! Allie won. She's the best! End of story. :))))
