Freshman in HS Brandon Miller of John Burroughs in St. Louis ran 1:50.84 to win the class 3 open 800, then follows up with a 47.6 auto timed 4x400 relay leg less than 2 hours later. He has the 4x800 and 4x400 finals tomorrow.
As an 8th grader last year, he ran 48.xx in a relay, 1:51.2 (age WR), and 4:02 for 1500.

Seem to be an freshman record based on New Balance Nationals and NFHS.
Congrats to Brandon on the run, I'm glad he seems to be transitioning well into HS. Also, Well ahead of himself at this point last year!

He really looks like a normal 15 year old kid. He still has some physical maturation / growing to do.
Freshman class record by .19 seconds over Michael Granville!Maybe he's not even done yet this year. Very impressive. He could well go under 1:50 chasing others at nationals.

He won by 4 seconds going 55.2, 55.5. He might be able to go 1:49 with competition. The fact that he can go 47.6 in a heat of a 4x4 (not even the finals) is also impressive. Rumor is he was right behind someone who went 46.3 last weekend and probably split high 46 himself. That is serious speed, even at the collegiate level.

At this point, only time will tell. Difference between the two is Brandon's parents aren't borderline abusive like Granville's dad was.
I'm rooting for him to hold a career at well into his twenties AND surpass the current HS record.
He also dabbles in the higher distances, boasting PRs of 4:02 and 4:25 for the 1500 and Mile respectively.
