Also, so many of those three-point "attempts" that were being fouled were just "pretend" three point attempts. Additionally, watching three free-throws in a row - how boring is that?

It should be 2 free throws, but each should be worth 1.5 pts.
I think basketball is more a sissy fall-down no-contact sport than soccer is. If you can't take a shot without the defender grabbing your arm, shove him out of the way first.

Stupid...what's the world coming to (don't answer). If a player shoots the ball behind the 3-point circle and it goes in the basket - does the basket count as three or two? 🤔. If you answered "three" then you get a gold starðŸ‘. If the player attempts a 3-point shot and is fouled that player simply gets three free throws to equal the opportunity to make 3 points that he may have achieved if he wasn't fouled in the first place 😉

The 3 point line was added to NBA games in 1979.
If I had my way, I'd make any intentional foul an automatic ejection from the game.
I don't watch basketball though, so my opinion isn't that important.
If you make it two free throws regardless of where the shot is taken,and I'm up by three with seconds left in the game, I am going to seriously foul that three point shooter so he can't make the basket and will only get a chance to score two points.

To stop the stupidity of playing the last few minutes in an eternity add the rule: any intentional foul results in free-throws and control of the ball to the fouled team.

I don't understand how "the motion of shooting" works. Everyone can tell Harden isn't trying to make a shot; he's trying to get fouled. But he always gets credit for "the motion of shooting." Why can't they make a rule so that stupid stuff doesn't happen?
The league average field goal percentage is 46%, and the average 3-pt percentage is 36%, so the expected value of a 2-pt shot is .92 points while the expected value of a 3-pt shot is 1.08 points.
The league average free throw percentage is 77%, so when you shoot 2 free throws, the expected value of those shots is 1.54 points. In other words, the penalty carries a 67% benefit (you would have got .92 points if you'd been able to attempt the field goal, but being allowed to shoot free throws gives you .92*1.67 = 1.54 points).
So what they should do is adjust the point value of the foul shots that you take when fouled during a 3 point shot. Instead of being worth one point each, they should be worth .6 points each. Then shooting foul shots after a 3 point shot would give you an expected number of points equal to 167% of the expected value of a 3 point shot (3*.6 = 1.8 = 1.08*1.67), and the penalty would carry equivalent benefit to the shots taken after a foul inside the arc.
This seems like the simple solution to me.
I've never seen a legitimate foul on a 3 point shot. It's either some superstar gets touched (or sometimes never touched) on the arm and does not affect the shot at all, or the shooter pump fakes and jumps into the defender while they're coming down after jumping. I play pickup basketball 3 times a week and there are never fouls called or made on jump shots. Same with league.
