Poor perfomances, not many races.
Olympic hangover? Lack of motivation? Drug-related? Off-events? Scared of Murphy? What's the deal? That 5k was atrocious and for a guy supposedly headlining the meet, he entered in the slower heat??

Not much of an excuse. Plenty of runners are already doing well, centro started his phase of ballsuckingness right after winning the olympics anyway.

Happens to a lot of people over a lot of different genres when the pinnacle is reached. It's hard to motivate yourself. In just a year's time, he won a world indoor gold and an Olympic gold. He's definitely become complacent, out of shape, and lazy, but rightfully so. This will be a bad year for him, but he'll probably get back going again next year after getting beat up a bit on the circuit.
Too much partying.

Fool. It is only May 9th for everyone else too.

Moron. Where was Centro on May 9 last year,
Checkmate.]
Year one and year four in the Olympic cycle have different goals especially if you are coming off an OG Gold year.
Centro has also been some traveling for a book tour with his dad. For someone of his caliber, I have to think that messes with your performance.

He was just a couple months removed from being world indoor champ on May 9 last year.
But at the same time, he skipped Pre last year.
Who knows what's up.

Honestly? No. 13:48 2 weeks ago...1:49.4 last week...3:33 tonight...one of these things is not like the other. Please elucidate, Malmo.

Well, it's like this. You run your best when it counts, not when it doesnt. Simple.

Definitely a gamer.
Let's look at the current state of Oly medalists:
Centro- looking good
Makh - hasn't raced
Willis- last place in road mile
My assumption is that 3:33 is a complete train-through.
Centro's slower-than-expected 5k is just because he's more of a speed 1500m guy than an endurance based guy... Even though the 5k was "slow" it doesn't necessarily mean he'll have a fast kick at the end like he does in a "slow" 1500.
His 800 was good I though. 1:49 isn't on par with 3:33, but he ran what he needed for the W. Who's to say he couldn't of gone faster? That 800 was a race not a time trial I believe.

The 800 was also run at altitude, so it's probably worth a couple seconds faster.
I really don't get the problem? He won oxy against some good runners. How is that a poor performance?
Too much junk food.
