I understand that there is a nice path off Rte 110 by the reservoir. It looks like a beautiful place to run without the hard pavement of the roads.
Has anyone run there? How far out does it go?

Is that the one where you get off 495 go north (west) 50 yards on 110 and take a left onto an access road. there's a big apple orchard operation right before the road deadends at the reservoir parking???
if yes, i've been there walking with child and actually years ago at a sunrise easter service with my dog!!! (pets were allowed/encouraged).
anyway. it's pretty circular loop maybe a little less than a mile. trail is wide and not too rocky but i don't recall any forks that would take you off into a wider trail network. i would say it could get boring pretty quick. it might not be bad for interval training though or if you commute home that way and want to stop. I've made a mental note of it for those purposes.
This is about 100 yards past the new Clinton High School. Trails by the water.
I'm the type that tracks miles run not time run.
I'm hoping someone may have measured the trail with a mountain bike.
I have run hundreds of miles over those trails. Problem right now is that you are no longer permited to run through the railroad bed cut-out and down below the dam. (Sept, 11)
The terrorist took away my favorite loop!
You can run from the HS to the end at 110 (about 2m) and then run up the road a half mile and re-enter a trail on which you can run several miles.
There are trails all-around the resevoir, mostly fire roads
some that are very eroded and rocky.

Good news! The railroad bend cut-out has been reopened!
Hope you are well Hodgie-san!
The dirt roads and trails surrounding Wachusett Reservoir are shown on Strava maps. I've done the perimeter roads (110 and 70) that make a 26+ mile route from where I live in worcester.
Years ago, when permitted, I mountain biked all the trails. Most are available and great for trail running and snow snowshoeing in the winter. Look at the maps for access points - there are several on both highways.
