What is it like being middle of the pack for the Oly Trials or top 20-30 at a major race (Falmouth or Peach Tree for instance)? Is it worth working as hard as the elites but not having the talent or money?
I find myself at a cross roads in life and training and I'm tempted to just say f**k it and chase the dream all-out. I live cheaply and have a flexible, low-hours job, and I have a good graduate degree in my back pocket to fall back on when I'm too old to keep it up.
Anyone else out there doing the same thing and have some insight?
