Not the toughest double. Do 3200 and 4*400 at a smaller meet. I only had 5 minutes rest. Aka a heat of the girls 4*400

Assuming you sat & kicked in the 32. The 400m is a whole different zone.. Lactic Acid levels are completely separated. Hope someone has some suggestions because I can benefit from this too.
Yeah basically. But I did have an 800 all out 30 min prior to the 3200. Just put my legs up against a wall for 10 min and did a quick warm up after.

4/8 off 30 minutes recovery is almost always tougher than 32/4x4 off 5 minutes recovery. You'll be very fatigued after a 3200--especially if run at a hard effort--but you won't have the dead, lactic-acid filled legs you'll get after the 4.
400/800 is the toughest common double in high school track. 800/300H is the only pair of events I can think of that's more difficult, but I doubt many kids pull it off in a single meet--putting a kid into a hurdles race 5 minutes after a hard 800 is a great way to get him or her injured.
To OP: put your legs up, do one or two barefoot laps around the infield, have a bite of a granola bar, and hope for the best. You'll never run your best possible 800 30 minutes after running a hard quarter.
