Idk of this really helps you but on my team, whenever someone says something and you didn't hear what they said, you just loudly say "OULU" in rebuttal (as in Oulu, Finland like the actor does in either Without Limits or Prefontaine, I forget which).
Those movies are full of meme worthy moments.

One time, some kids on my team smelled Windex on a run. Then, they realized that they were running too fast. Now, when we are going too fast we say "Windex". We also smelled paint when we were going too slow, and it smelled like gorgonzola. When we need to speed up we say "Gorgonzola".
